i like the HTC mail program just fine, and i like how the app icon shows you when you have new mail. i had a problem earlier with it not showing html content, but i found the answer to that in another thread (set the mail size limit to "no limit"). however, i just noticed it doesn't allow me to look at any of my yahoo mail folders, and doesn't show any new mail that goes directly into those folders. so that's not so good.

i like K9, and would love to use it on my incredible, but there does not appear to be any sort of widget like the HTC mail app link that is just a 1x1 icon that shows your unread message count. does anyone know of such a widget?

alternately, anyone know of any other mail program to use on the inc that would have both folder access in yahoo mail and an icon that shows you when you have unread messages? that is the ideal i'm trying to work toward. anyone? thanks.

But you still get the closed envelope icon in the notification bar. I use K9 and it seems like i get my emails quicker, almost instant pushes.

Exactly why I switched to K9. I'm a Mac user with MobileMe for email. I swear, this is no exageration, but K9 gets my MobileMe email FASTER than the iPad sitting right next to me. It's not by much (maybe 5-10 seconds) but the push email of K9 works perfectly.

Maybe a developer could make an Unread Mail Count widget that (similar to Unread SMS Count or Gmail Unread Count widgets) can be set to open K9 when clicked and to monitor multiple email accounts? Hint, hint. I'd pay for that widget...

i would absolutely pay for that widget. i don't like to have a notification pop up in my top bar, because i don't need to know every time an email comes in. i just want to be able to see, quickly, when i unlock my phone, if i have mail and how many new messages i have. that's why the htc mail icon is so nice. oh, well.

I just went to the market and there was something called MailWidget (woo) that claimed to be just that. Didn't try it cause I've yet to actually try k9 :)

No good. That's a 2x2 Widget that actually lists incoming emails. We are looking for a simple 1x1 icon/widget that only shows an unread email count badge on the icon and when you click it, it opens K9.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

I use K9 for multiple accounts including Yahoo, and it always shows in the notification bar how many unread e-mails I have and which accounts they are in.
Diabl0, how did you setup K9 for multiple pop accounts? After I installed it and setup one account, now it goes into inbox every time I click the icon. It doesn't give the possibility to go in settings and setup another account.

I am using it on galaxy tab, android 2.3.5.
Thanx.
