Accessories Screen protector needed?

I scratched my screen about a week after having it, then another then another then a big gouge. I went for the screen-only Zagg after that and put a silicone case around the rest.

The sad thing was is the day before the big gouge, the mobile manager at best buy was trying to sell me on the zagg, and I could have bought it at that time but I decided to wait until next pay day......

I'm using a zagg right now but I hate it, my fingers drag on it, its always smudged and is very hard to clean. My buddy uses something on his droid that is smooth as silk, wish I had that one.

I'm thinking about taking mine off but I'm a little scared to.

I had a screen protector on it, but took it off because it sucked. I usually DESTROY the screens on my phone in about 45 minutes from buying them... this one seems to be very tough. I work in construction, and haven't scratched it yet.

I had a really el cheapo one on my screen that I put on not quite right. One corner was not on just right. It was the kind that had a piece that you peel off the bottom, then stick on the screen, then peel off the top.

I love the way it felt on the screen and the way it kept the fingerprints and smudges down. I'm trying to get my hands on more right now, because I took it off because it being on wrong started to really drive me crazy.

My fingers actually were dragging across the screen *without* the screen protector on!

Depending upon how this works out, I might try the Zagg.

I've had good luck with phantom skinz on all my touchscreen devices. You get two screen protectors for less than $7 shipped(using a coupon code).

Actually it's now closer to $8, but still a good deal plus you get 2 during the "Internet special."

I've bought *2* sets of screen protectors from eBay sellers saying all kinds of glorious things about their protector--UV blockage, thick film, easy to apply, no bubbles, etc... One was super cheap ($1 shipped) which turned out to be crap. The next was from a USA seller at a higher price, so I figured that this would be a better quality one--NO, it was pretty much the same quality with even manufacturing defects (a thin line across them, so thankfully I got a refund from the seller).

Actually, not only did the seller refund my money, they are sending another set. Strange, if I'm not happy then why would I want more? This is seller "clearscreens". I was also informed by the seller that "the bubbles do outgas after a few days on the phone." Why don't they say that on the instructions?? Anyway, it is true that after a day of the skin being installed, it appears to be getting better bubble-wise. But they still slightly overhang the screen. If anything, they should be made just slightly smaller, so the protector edges aren't vulnerable.

It looks like Zagg and Phantom Skinz are the two big leaders on skin protectors. Phantom has quite a deal... I wonder how they compare to Zagg?
