NYC 3G Speeds

NYC
Today I rooted my EVO using unRevoked so I can run the OC Widget. After installing the widget, I noticed that my internet was quite sluggish. I was at work in Downtown NYC at the time so I ran the speed test a few times, the best I was able to get was 323Kbps down and 11Kbps up. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that unRevoked was the problem.

I live ~5 miles away in Staten Island so I ran the speed test once I got home. I was able to get 1.4Mbps down and 648Kbps up. I have had Sprint for a couple of years already and the speeds in NYC were never this terrible. Anyone know why this is so?

Does anyone know where you can find an accurate 4G coverage map? the one on the sprint website says there is no 4G in NY at all, yet I hear people talking about it in NYC and Rochester.

I have been able to get a weak 4G signal in NYC for a short period of time but I don't think that you will see 4G coverage in NY on any map since it isn't officially live yet. I heard rumors of a launch within the next couple of months.

i live on 13th st btwn 6th and 7th ave and my highest down score on 3g has been 2.99Mb/s and highest up score has been 0.86Mb/s, on wifi with 100% signal strength (time warner cable) highest down was 13.77Mb/s and highest up was 1.2Mb/s.

i feel my results are not bad for 3g. i mean on my computer i just barely break 1.5Mb/s for upload speeds and that costs me 40 bucks a month!

if upload speeds for 4g in manhattan are going to be twice what i get with time warner, maybe ill ditch my cable modem and just use my evo...
