Help Copy and Paste in Standard Apps

I will be receiving my Incredible tomorrow and have a question about copy and paste. I am coming off an iPhone 3G where you can copy and paste in pretty much all of the applications. My question is: which standard applications (applications that come pre-loaded on the phone) can you utilize the copy and paste functionality? Is it done differently within certain apps or is there a standard proceedure throughout?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Copy and Paste may be Android's current Achilles Heel. It took Apple 2 years to implement it, but their implementation is excellent and, more importantly, universal among all apps. In Android, you still need apps to enable it piece by piece, and the interface for doing it isn't very great.

I love HTC Sense's iPhone-like custom copy-paste functionality, but it only works in browsers; that needs to be put into Android proper and made to work everywhere there's any text.

Hopefully with Google working hard on the UI for Gingerbread, we'll get that later this year.

Copy and paste doesn't work in the gmail app at all? That seems like a bit of a disappointment. Is there no work around?

Has google made any announcements about improvements to copy and paste. While I am happy about getting rid of my iPhone, I do agree that they implimented copy and paste very well.

What I don't like is the use of icon menus here.. sometimes for me a picture is not worth a thousand words.
Haha, yessssssssssss! Every time I highlight something by mistake, those icons pop up and I'm like, "I don't know what any of these mean." Luckily I haven't intentionally needed to copy and paste something because I'm not sure I'd know how to do it.

The next Android Update, Froyo, will have copy-paste in the Gmail app. Of course, you can currently copy-paste from any text field in Gmail.

Am I correct that the most recent information pertaining to when the HTC Incredible will get Froyo says that it'll be sometime during the second half of 2010? Has any more detailed information been released?
