You make it sound like it doubles as an antenna. :D

I use it mostly for watching Sprint TV since it frees my hands. I'm right now on the pc and watching the world cup. Without the kickstand i couldn't.

TS

Just to be clear it is not an antenna, but when the phone it standing up rather than laying on its back it is able to receive a better signal. This will usually increase speeds. ;)

In the Engadget review, they mentioned the kickstand was good if only to prevent you from placing the phone on the lense when putting it down. I don't watch a lot of videos on the phone, but I have it propped up at work, so I get a better view of any notifications, and when I use it as an alarm clock.

I use it pretty often:

* Just this past weekend on both legs of a 3-hour return flight to watch movies

* Every night as an alarm clock I prop it up on the kickstand

* Using Qik video chat to my wife on her Evo

* Anytime I play music through the device (not using a head phone).

* On a speaker phone call.

Generally I use the kickstand whenever I am viewing something or listening without a headphone. It helps with the sound traveling better since the speaker is on the back and placing it flush on its back on a surface will cause you to lose some sound. Sometimes when playing music I'll even turn the screen away so I can the full effect of the speaker. I love the kickstand.

Speakerphone calls. Youtube browsing. Web browsing, while at a desk. Watching an ep of Doctor Who every day--whether I use it to prop it on my leg or on the armrest of a chair at the coffee shop, it's helpful. On the bus, I use it for much the same. In more regular usage, I usually flip it out if I have to operate the phone one-handedly--putting three fingers below it and one above it makes for an excellent and secure grip.
