HTC Touch Keyboard with the Motorola Droid

There is a cool apk file that allows you to install the HTC Touch keyboard on the Moto Droid. It works great in portrait mode, the problem is when you use it in landscape. The keyboard only expands about 3/4 the width of the screen making it really annoying to use. Has anyone installed this apk file and if so are you having the same issues. Perhaps I am using a bad link for the file so any help or link would be appreciate. TIA

Have you tried "Better Keyboard" in the app store? It's a paid app ($2.99) and I've read that many people like it. There are also free skins to go along with "Better Keyboard" including one called Hero Skin to emulate the HTC Hero keyboard.

Yeah I tried Better Keyboard and didn't like it much. But never tried it with that skin. Might give it another shot. Thanks.

Yes I have ran the program you are talking about and had the same issue.
I posted a thread over in AndroidCentral forums stating my findings.

I think it is because it is written for HTC Hero devices which has a lower screen resolution and also smaller screen. Which would be why I think it is only going to 3/4 of our screen since the size it is going to seems to be the same size of the screen of the Hero.

Just my 2 cents but that is why I think it does not look as clear and sharp and also the size of the landscape keyboard.

well, it works on my cliq and it worked on the donut version of my g1 be4.. but it may mess up on the droid because of eclair and the HUGE screen size,, the code may not be optimized for 2.0 just yet.. ill look into this..
