Droid X or Droid 2

As of right now I'm about to buy a new smart phone and not sure which would I want more. The Droid X or the Droid 2 or should I wait for the 2Ghz Motorola Android phone.. Please give me an answer which is better in your opinion and give a reason. Please don't make your answer too vague.

Also should I buy the Droid X or Droid 2 then buy the new 2Ghz Android Moto phone later on in the year and sell the other phone on ebay or to a family member.

i`ve had all types of phones, keyboards, flips, slabs.
i dont want a keyboard cause i dont like moving parts anymore.
i want it to be one sleek device. and since i can just speak into the phone to type...anyway, i think the droid x is going to be your best bet.
unless u want to wait. i plan on buying a new phone as soon as they get released. every one verizon gets that hot :)
so, i`ll be getting that 2ghz phone.

I really want the 2GHz moto phone but I am not waiting for it, I am going to get the Droid X. I will do what I always do if I want something later, I will sell my current phone and buy the next one. I am eagerly waiting for the Droid X and cannot wait to have it.

I am also a little worried to see how they handle the battery situation on the newer 2GHz phone.

I would go with the Droid X. I'm not a huge fan of physical keyboards anymore since virtual ones have gotten so good. Plus less moving parts mean less things to go wrong. We don't know as much about the Droid 2 yet, but I'm guessing it'll be out sooner than the 2 just because it's already announced on VZW's website. I wouldn't wait on the 2 GHz phone just yet because we don't really even know if it will be out for sure by the years end. Even more than that, we don't know how battery life will be affected by a chip like that. Android's current offerings, and even more so with FroYo, run just great with a 1 GHz processor (less in some situations, a la original Droid) and I think the 2 GHz will just be a show off thing for a while. And then, even if it does come out and you like it, you can just sell your X to go towards upgrading to the new one.

I actually doubt that is true. Considering the similarities in hardware between the X and D2 (same processor and screen resolution), I'm guessing that they'll have the exact same software loaded.

I don't believe the Droid 2 will be released at the same date, leaving time to update software.

Personally, I HATE the landscape keyboard for Swype. It bothers me a lot. For portrait, yes, I like it. But not in landscape.

If you keep waiting for a better device to come out, you'll never be satisfied. Every few weeks it seems like a better device is released. Eventually you're going to have to bite the bullet and go for one.

Hmm... I never tried landscape with Swype, I guess I usually don't type in Landscape, heck I guess I am too lazy to turn my phone sideways, lol. What is different in landscape?

For me, it just feels uncomfortable. Plus, the space bar isn't centered on the bottom, it all the way to the right. I know you don't really have to use the space bar much with Swype, but it still throws me off.

Yeah that does suck, I didn't use the space bar much but you still do every now and then, and it would be nice if it was in the middle? Have you ever used swype on a phone that comes pre-installed with it? I don't know if it is any better buy I figured it would be nice to know.

Ok thank you for all your help but also I heard some rumors about another new phone called DroidPro. Can anyone explain to me what's the phone about, what carrier it's on, the specs of the phone (especially the weight, size, processor, and screen). The reason for this question is that I heard rumors that this phone is going to Verizon but will also be a World phone. If it is will the 2Ghz phone that should be coming next year be the same and stand up to it. Also how will the Droid X compete with it.
