Motorola Droid @ Sears(?) for $149

I just the read Motorola Droid is being sold by Sears. I did not know they sold phones either. No rebates either!

I knew I would find it somewhere else cheaper if I waited five nanoseconds! This is online I believe, but hey $50 is $50. I went to Best Buy just to ditch the rebate crap.

Yes, the Droid is $149 at Sears...and a few other places like Wirefly, Phandroid and Wal-Mart ($188).

I too bought my Droid at Bestbuy, but luckily while I was in line waiting to get my phone, I was at the Mac section doing my research on finding better deals. I found the 4 above and brought the Bestbuy rep over to negotiate a price match. In result...I love Bestbuy and I love my $149 Droid. =)

You should definitely go back to the Bestbuy you bought your phone from and ask for a price match. I'm sure they'll gladly do it for you.

Noooo! Oh well, best buy actually accepted my NE2 50 dollar discount (=149 before tax). Funny thing was, all I had to do was show them a printout from verizon with the NE2 discount amount next to my number. Seems like it would be very easy to manipulate the printed amount.....

I've been looking around at online options, and that really seems to be the best way to go...great discounts, no tax, and you can get next day shipping that still leaves your final price well under retail.

The only thing I'm worried about is with returns or if I have any problems. It seems like with these types of phones, there's always the possibility of getting a lemon. I'm wondering if it'd be a hassle to get an exchange if I have to send it to Wal-Mart or some other company, as opposed to just dropping into Best Buy or a Verizon store.

I don't guess the local Verizon store would offer any help unless it's bought there? Can I buy insurance after the fact from VerizonWireless.com if Wal-Mart.com isn't offering? So now I find myself asking if paying the taxes is worth the comfort of having help just a few minutes away.

If you buy online and get a "lemon" take it to your local Walmart. Tell them you purchased the phone at Walmart and lost the receipt. It is a little deceptive but Walmart doesn't care because they will get a one for one exchange...moto will take it back..fix it and sell it as refurb...so they don't care...and if it is totally screwed then moto just writes it off.

I do this all the time with stuff I order on Amazon...ok not all the time...like 2 times. As long as you are doing an exchange they are real easy to work with especially with new items.

Is this Sears deal only available online? I was under the impression that Best Buy only price matched other brick & mortar store sales.

What did you bring in to Best Buy for the match? Did you print something off, or was there a news paper ad or something?

I printed off the ad, as well as provided them the link. Since I was opening a new account, they were able to match it. I'm not sure if they would do this if you're already an existing customer.

Please report back before I try the same thing LOL. And $179 I think is the price for upgrades.

I actually was ready to try a price match but I printed the $149 page instead of $179 and they caught it. I didn't realize it and I'm chicken to try again for the $20

dang it... I didn't realize Sears sells the Droid. I would have used the $150 gift certificate someone gave me. I should have gotten it for free. Arggg....

Best Buy gave me $50.00 cash back today (Greensburg, PA). I printed out the Sears cart with just the Droid in it for $149.99. The manager of BB mobile said no problem, I was the third person to get the credit. I also returned the very short car charger for $20. I then went to the Verizon store and bought the Car and Home dock, a charger, and a case for $70.00...

I ended up getting the Droid for $100 (NE2) + $70 for all accessories. Damn good deal.

*As a note, The Verizon Store will bundle a Home Dock, car charger, and case for $49.00. Then I got the Car Dock for 25% off.

I guess I was really lucky I took in Dells $119 ad (printed from online) and the mobile department told customer service to honor, I took my sears ad too just in case, they ended up giving a credit to my bestbuy card for $149, I guess the cashier thought $149 from the sears ad was the credit amount instead of the difference of so i paid $50! I checked with the mobile department and they told me not to worry about it. I should have only received 199 - 119 = $80 credit.

I got a refund for 50 bucks by printing out the sears add. I should really go back with the 120$ add and get an additional 30 bucks back. BestBuy is pretty good, they price match with very little back talk. Print the add out and bring your receipts.
