Hi

Is there any way to make the LED flash continually on the Desire to notify a new email or message ? My phone does this initially but stops flashing after some time (I'm not sure how long). I haven't managed to find a setting yo control this yet.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks, Peter

Certainly on Handcent SMS you can set number of reminders and LED flash frequency when you get a text. I guess it's also available on the stock application if that's what you're using? Have a look under settings and then notifications.

Wow this is a coinsidence but Handcent have just updated its app with support for the LED on the desire! Ive been testing it out and you can have some funky colours such as cyan and blue, choose the blink rate, and it always stays constantly blinking

Pretty cool!

If you dont have this app, its a must!

Not sure to be honest - how long does it flash for?

Have you seen that in settings you can select Enable Reminders and then choose how many reminders you get and the time period between them? I guess these reminders will flash the LED as well as the audible notification. You can also set it to switch the screen on when it reminds you.

There is an app called Missed Reminders, that should DP it
I use it for missed calls notification, IIRC it also wprks for text/email etc

Big warning with this app. I used it for quite a while and, although it does do what it's supposed to do quite well, it prevents the phone from sleeping; which may have a big adverse affect on your battery life.

I've been using it since I got my desire in April, and my battery seems just as good as anybody else's, if not a lot better than some

Thanks for the app, but I am not able to get it to work..
I set the app (enabled the service and everything, configured LED blink), disabled the LED notifications from the phone's settings, and gave myself a missed call from the landline. No LED blink. Not once.
What am I doing wrong?
