Where should I purchase my Incredible?

I'm dying to switch to Verizon and get my hands on an Android handset. I've been waiting about two weeks already for the Incredible, but now Verizon has pushed the ship by date all the way back to July 20th. If I have to wait that long, I may as well get the X instead (depending on price). Do any of you know where I could find an Incredible sooner than this? Amazon says 2-3 weeks. If I could find one I'd buy today. I've seen a few posters say they ordered from Verizon and the phone actually shipped that day instead of by July 20th. Is this some kind of awful marketing ploy by VZW or is there an actual shortage?

I doubt you will find it anywhere even within a couple of days. They are back ordered because of a shortage of screens made by Samsung. Many of us are waiting the 3 weeks to get ours. It is possible to get one from the VZW store but you might have to call every day.

I am on my second week and will not receive mine until June 30th.

As far as the Droid X, I think it is too big. I would not want something that big in my front pants pocket.

And I'm perfectly fine with the size of the X. I'm 6'4 and I have large hands so 4.3" isn't much different than 3.7". I'm not sure how much I trust Motorola though. I always thought HTC built the best phones, but it seems as if they've been iffy lately.

You better try both before deciding - 4.3 felt very different to me than 3.7.

I tried an EVO in store and loved the size. To me there wasn't much difference. I had to extend my thumb a little more than with my iPhone but it's a very worthy trade off to me for such a display.

Do you guys think there's any truth to this article?

I definitely don't want to buy the Incredible if Verizon is already bailing on it. I'm not sure I believe that since it's selling so well they can't make them quick enough.

I got mine from BB, the local store was sold out but it came in a week after I ordered it. I also was able to get it for $150, to match Sears price.

I'd strongly suggest you ORDER one one from BB...if you think you're going to spend atleast $50 at Best Buy, there is no real cost for ordering one. If one of the other stores gets some in stock, you can always pick one up there.

And it doesn't hurt to check out the VZW store...I've heard some stores get a couple in stock (no idea how that happens, but it's what I've heard) and are first come first served.

2. Check all the best buys you are willing to drive to. There may be a few out there.

3. Go in and speak to a rep at a verizon store. tell them you are deciding between Incredible and EVO to move your service. A new account plus a manager might get you something.


Good luck. I am a big guy and would love the larger screen for my fat fingers BUT I dont want to carry a phone bigger than a bag phone around with me. I dont mind the weight or even a thicker phone but the size is too big (yes, thats what SHe said... had to be done)

Best Buy is the way to go. I went in on the evening of 6/18 and put myself on a waiting list. I had one in hand on the afternoon of 6/20. 6/19 was a really, really long day.

I ordered my HTC incredible online after hearing the verizon store wouldn't get it to me until after the 24th of July. A friend told me to order from wirefly.com and so I ordered it on the 17th of June and it came 2 friggen days later. I LOVE THIS PHONE! (and wirefly for giving it to me 50 dollars off)

If you didn't order yet, I believe wirefly ripped me off. I tried to order my incredible from them yesterday but they my credit card was declined. Today i got a call from my credit card company saying I was charged 160 something from wirefly. I call wirefly and they couldn't even locate me since I didn't have an order number. How the eff am I suppose to have an order number if it was 'declined'. I also didn't get an email from wirefly confirming my order like others said they got. The cs agent couldn't even use my address or phone number to look me up. what bs is that. I think i am out $160

Nope, I ordered mine on the 10th of June, and as of today VZW says its still not going to ship until the 30th of June.

If you didn't order yet, I believe wirefly ripped me off. I tried to order my incredible from them yesterday but they my credit card was declined. A little of topic...Tell your CC company you are not authorizing that charge, and they will take it off and not charge you for it.
