Its an OK camera.
The day shots are nice clear and crisp. The only issue I see with it is the horizontal noise lines in night shots. I thought it was just my phone but I can see the exact same thing in the night shots posted. Having 5mp is actually worse than lower resolution cameras since these high resolution CMOS sensors have poor light sensitivity due to individual pixels on the sensor being so small. My 3.2mp LG Dare camera produces better low light shots.
Camcorder feature on the Eris is below average for todays smart phones. Low max resolution (352x288), medium FPS (15) and again the low light performance is not the best due to the high density 5mp CMOS sensor.
Its stupid marketing and the lack of education of the general public that brings us to these lower quality CMOS cameras on our new smart phones.
3.2mp cameras produce better low light shots and still have more than enough resolution. The problem is most people think "ooo 5mp is better than 3.2mp" when this is simply not true. Resolution goes up and image quality starts to suffer even more in low light....
Overall its an OK camera....but that it.
