Multiple Issues

Ever since the update I've been having two issues. I've searched extensively on here, but with all the nonsense threads, it's not easy.

First, whenever someone calls me, their picture and/or name doesn't show up for a few seconds. While it's not 100% of the time, it is very often. This is very annoying, and I don't wanna have to half screen my calls.

Second this stupid tapping sound when i text with the ringer on. Wtf is this. I don't need a fake type writer sound.

If anyone can help I'd very much appreciate it. And if the answer was right under my nose, I apologize for being a noob. Thanks.

Its just lag. If you have a lot of contacts, it might be because it has to search through all of them to find the number. I only have 45 contacts, so its usually instant for me.

I bet you're right. When i have facebook contacts checked under the view setting in the people app it seems to take longer for the number to show up when its ringing.

Honestly I feel that in 20 freaking 10 this shouldnt be an issue. I don't need a freaking projector attachment for my phone, just make one that does what it's supposed to. Flawlessly. The more complicated these things get, the more they forget about keeping it functional.

Ah yes, I remember the days of phones that placed and received phone calls....

Stickied threads at the top of this forum are a great place to find tips & tricks, solutions for problems and issues, etc:

http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/80233-factory-data-reset-option.html

Sorry if you've already perused them...don't always know if folks paid attention to the "sticky" marks (I didn't when I first subscribed :))

Thanks.

I read and read and then read some more before I post, I find this site, harder than almost any other forum I've ever seen for finding actual information. There's tons of bs spewed everywhere. Also, I'm not knew to the forum scene and know how stickies work. Thank you for trying to point me in the right direction however.

No problem...just didn't want to assume and have you miss-out on something important (mostly if you didn't know about factory reset). Regarding search, yeah, I heartily agree with you...it really seems to be hit-or-miss--wish they would team-up and install some Google-like search (sometimes you can do a straight Google search and include the forum's URL and a couple of search terms and it can sometimes find stuff that the forum search cannot).

Cheers!

search query site:androidforums.com

Put that into Google. Does a pretty good job if I want to find something on this site.
