So after scouring the web for any rumors of new phones I found someone on the AT&T wireless forum who knows someone who works in AT&T's device testing facility. He says that there is a new phone in the final phase of testing that is supposedly a GSM version of Verizon's Incredible.

So now I need you guys to help name all of the rumored HTC phones so we can get some info around the net.

HTC Intruder
HTC Liberty
HTC Scorpion

I know the Intruder/Liberty are accepted as the Aria, but why three names? I think they may be trying to keep us confused and one of these devices actually exists (Hopefully Intruder, love the name :D).

There was a software screenshot of the Aria (which I can't find right now) that listed the model name as "Liberty," & there was a video showing the back of the Aria w/o the battery cover on where you could see the word "Intruder" just below the FCC logo.

Here you go to explain the names.
Here's the deal with the names ... - Android Central Forums

As to the Scorpion show me where it has been said AT&T even being considered for this handset. And the Scorpion is rumored to be a Q4 handset as well.

And the GSM verison of the Incredible is the Desire. And we know that is going to regional carriers according to HTC. The differences between the Desire and Incredible are very small. Better touch sensor for the screen 8mp camera to 5mp and 8gb of onboard mem to 0. Those are the only real changes.

I'm naming off anything I can think of that we have previously wrote off.

I'm tired of the guessing. I really don't see why it always has to be such a big secret what phones a carrier is trying to get just to force customers into guessing and then buying phones they may not want because 2 weeks later a more suitable one appears.

Right now E3 is going on, software/hardware game makers are showcasing everything they can to get hype up so people will yearn to get their stuff. sometimes a year or 2 and maybe even further in advance. Now I understand its a different business model, but when you screw around with your customers and just hold all your cards close the only thing your doing is the equivalence of a cheap parlor trick with a little bait and switch thrown in for flavor and you turn your customers into skeptical doubting thomas' who can't even trust the company they've been with for years.

I hate cell phone carriers put them on a level with used car dealers.

I guess you could say that, but with only 4 out of the 5 Android phones announced -- something is coming and they wouldn't [sanely] take a step backwards if they've already had this planned out.

Except for the fact they used the word "launch" and that is a word they have used to say a phone is avail for sale. So at this point they have made 2/5 of what they said. And there is no way that they will make 3 more phones in the next 3 days. And they have still not even given a date for the Captive either. And I think we all know what has happened with the first android handset that they announced without a date. We are 3 months later and still nothing.
