droid vs getting new droid x

ok well now we know the droid x is coming out on july 15th. I was just wondering if people were thinking about trading the droid in for this. I kind of do not want to since mine has so many opinions with all the roms and kernels. I feel like getting the droid x right now would almost be a step backwards. What is your thoughts?

Right now, yes, it would be a step backward. Plus, developers would have to figure out MotoBlur - but with all of the experience they have developing for he DROID, I have a feeling that this transition to root and such will be a *LOT* smoother.

Verizon is offering the opportunity to upgrade now if you have an eligible upgrade coming up at any point in 2010. Many of us signed two year agreements when we got the Droid so we're not eligible to upgrade until 2011 or 2012.i

I just signed a one year deal so I could get the droid x.

I am not sure I will ever buy an android phone that isn't vanilla out of the box. Don't need Blur, Sense or any other brand specific UI because I am just going to make it my way as soon as I can root which lately seems to be almost day 1.

I would like to see an android phone come out that has root out of the box.

Also with the way the Droid performs I can see me with this phone till my contract is up and with the speed that android phones are improving I can't wait to see what is out by then.

I didn't even know a one-year deal was an option. Did you have to pay extra for the phone. Like nearly everyone else that bought the Droid, I paid $199, but the only way I got that price was with a new two-year contract.

I did it thought my Verizon online. It was not an available in the store but when I did it through my Verizon I could get a one year deal and the phone was only thirty dollars more (229.99). So I was willing to pay a extra thirty dollars to only sign a one year deal

I was going to start a thread like this only to find this one has been started.
My question is the same as far as how many are considering upgrading the Droid X from the Droid?
I love my Droid and the only problem I have is typing because the keyboard is so tight. With the Droid X since it is a bigger screen I'm assuming the keyboard would also be a little bigger (at least I hope). That would help me with a lot of frustration. Also Droid X can handle 32GB SD cards and the Droid only 16GB (at least that is what I've been told, not sure if that is correct).
But I do not want to lose the versitility of all the apps and software updates with the Moto Droid. (Please forgive me as I don't think I totally understand this to explain it) But I am told that Moto Droid is the first phone that Verizon has kept unlocked and didn't put their UI on it. I like how I can do anything I want with this without VZ Navigator or V Cast, hated those. I wouldn't want to go to another phone and Verizon lock it down to their UI. (Hope that made sense) Don't know anything about MotoBlur.
So how many are upgrading/not upgrading and why? I always read personal reviews to find out whether the gadget is a good buy or not. So I would like to hear it from people how know a whole lot more about it than I do.
Oh, I used my shared family plan' phone to upgrade to Droid. I'm the main user and it is eligible for the new for 2 on 10/2010. Are you saying they are allowing anyone that has a contract that terms in 2010 to update when Droid X comes out?

As long as my phone is a competent gaming device, I can't give up the physical keyboard. Ironically, that's about the only thing I NEED the keyboard for, since that multi-touch keyboard seems to finally be good enough to replace a physical keyboard.
