Bluetooth Pairing

Hi all!! I am new to this forum and just got my Eris today and yes the battery is almost dead. I paired the phone with my car today (a Prius) and it worked fine. However, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to unpair the BT. With my old phone, the BT would shut itself off after the car was off and I would walk a few yards away. I couldn't figure out how to shut it off.

Any help would be amazing!! I have learned a lot from all of you over the last few days, so thanks!

Go to the wireless settings and turn it off. I've also installed a shortcut on my home screen for easier use. It does suck a lot of battery.

That's what I did and nothing! I could make calls and no one could hear me...because it was still connected to BT.

Try unpairing and re-pairing that BT device.

Did it ask for you to put in your password?

No they just wouldn't connect. I am thinking my car was 'full of phones". When I deleted all the other phones, it finally worked. Thanks!

I love this phone except fot the phone features. I had a simple Verizon Motorola phone that connected fine and had a great signal strength. This new Eris will not connect to my Prius bluetooth and has a trouble with getting and keeping a signal. I can drive to were i use to get full bars but with the Eris it fades in and out or none at all. Do I need to exchange it or do I have to give up and go back to my motorola. Bluetooth is important driving safety feature I need. So is a signal.
Lkie I said the apps are fun and useful but as a phone it's worthless.

You may need to cancel out the other phones that are still in your bluetooth section of your car, if you aren't using them.

Make sure your bluetooth icon on your phone is on. On your Prius, go to bluetooth, and settings. Have your phone "find" the Handsfree device, then type in your Prius' passkey eg. 2222, or something.

Put your Bluetooth icon on one of your home pages on your Eris, so it is easier to turn on and off as you leave the car. It does burn the battery, so don't have it on unless you are using it.

I love my Eris! I have great reception.
