Eligible for upgrade even though I got my Incredible on launch.

I just upgraded on Launch day and my account says that I am still eligible for an upgrade now. Does anyone know why?

Error in the way they/you activated the phone and never resigned the contract. Good thing =) just dont go into the store for your next upgrade or they might not let you!

Yes that is what I just checked. My online account says my line is ready for an update. I was surprised so I thought I'd ask you guys if you knew why.

I know they are only machines, but i can't help but feel a little sorry for all the Inc's that are getting pointlessly ditched for a marginally better (and much larger) phone.

I don't feel bad - my screen is unresponsive 20% of the time and the battery life is pathetic. And my calls cut in and out all the freaking time.

I still think I prefer the size of the Incredible, but out of curiosity, what do people like you who switch phones so quickly do? Just sell off the Incredible and pay full price for the new phone or am I missing some way of getting a new phone subsidized so far before the NE2?

IMO, if you like the size of the Incredible and don't want something insanely huge (remember, the X is even larger than the Evo), I'd wait to use that upgrade. The rate at which phones are coming out now is insane, and by the time everyone has their hands on the X, the next big phone will be rumored to be released. But if the size of the X doesn't bother you and you don't want the Incredible, go for it [This is post is directed to the OP]

I wouldn't waste the upgrade from the incredible to the x. They aren't different enough for that

I will sell off my Incredible on Ebay. I should get at least a couple hundred dollars. They're selling for like around $450 right now. If you get the X, that will be like a $150 difference.

Yea, I'm in a similar situation to you. I have an upgrade in August if I want, but I'm not going from the INC to the X because the step up is marginal at best when you consider how fast new phones are coming out now. Keep the upgrade in your pocket and wait for a phone that is a serious upgrade over the Incredible.

reported over on phonedog that verizon will allow early upgrade is you have one coming in 2010, i have 4 lines and 2 have upgrades later in year so I might look into the X
wish it had the front camera live evo,
gonna just check more reports on the X and see. I like my Inc but larger screen for pics/vids and internet would be nice too

My incredible has yet to arrive. And i'm pretty sure it will be my last phone for this generation.

Does this only apply to NE2 or the 1 year upgrade also? I will be eligible for 1 year upgrade soon and am thinking about ditching the Storm.

I had a Storm and ditched it for an Incredible. You won't regret it!
