I just can't believe how long the battery lasts on this phone! I went to work and the phone was on all night. I left work with 70% battery after playing with the phone a bit during a 12 hour night shift. I put the phone on a windscreen mount and started a SatNav app. The phone was on all the way home giving directions for 50 miles/1 hour 5 minutes without a charger plugged in. My battery widget still showed 50% charged, AMAZING :D

............wish I could say the same, mine doesn't seem to last long at all :(

Open the switchers app and see if the GPS/bluetooth/wifi/sync are running when your not actually needing them. I just switch them on when needed rather than leaving them on all the time. Also install "advanced app killer" from the market to turn off apps that keep running in the background after you close them.

Hope that helps, Pete

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what sucks more power - 3G or wi-fi? I know they'll both drain the battery together, but just curious to know which sucks more power and whether the difference of one over the other in a static location (i.e not moving about as I know 3G can kill a battery due to hooking up to transponders etc) would be noticeable.

Hey all,

I'm new to android, and I have just (2 days ago!) got one of these phones on 3 here in the UK. But I must say, my battery life is terrible :-( It won't last 12 hours when it isn't getting any use at all. If I leave it overnight with the GPS, bluetooth, WiFi and auto-sync turned off, the phone on silent and the screen on the dimmest setting, I wake up to find it has completely discharged over night. I have read that 2.1 was hungry for power, but I also read that this phone had a great battery life. What should I do?

Thanks in advance,

Are you SURE its fully charged? Leave it charging on the ORIGINAL mains charger overnight. I find that using a USB port or an after market charger will not charge the phone properly.
