If you rooted, you don't need this. Rooting gives you 1.6 when you flash the rom. So essentially people who never rooted and were stuck with the broken touchwiz 2.0, stupid cube thing, and android 1.5 finally get what people who rooted have had for some time now.

Congrats T-Mobile/Samsung on leaving your customers out in the cold! Woo! I know almost everyone sold their behold 2's out of frustration and in need of a 2.x android, MT3G etc. Well the two/three of you out there who never rooted and kept your behold, enjoy your update. :p

1) I've been running Take5 for a while, with no complaints, but want to give the "official" release a try, as the BlueTooth behavior in Take5 isn't quite as nice as with the 1.5 release with respect to automatically repairing with my car speakerphone. Google navigation and 1 application from my bank that requires 1.6 are the only reasons I care about going to 1.6+.
2) It's bad enough that Samsung is pissing all over the phone, without all the former BH2 owners also pissing all over it. We get it, you hate the phone and have moved on, so please... move on....

The thing with using the "official" update is that if ANYTHING does not work properly then you can have Tmo work on the issue. If they can not fix the phone over the phone they will send you a replacement. You don't have to send you phone in first they send you the replacement you swap phones and send it back. And my understanding is that if you receive several phone with issues then you may be able to swap for a different phone all together. I can not vouch for this as I have only read about this a while ago.

Can't. Apparently one of the tips for receiving the updates is to not be using any home replacement apps.

July 21 needs to come faster.

Can't you just use your home replacement app until 9:00 PST and then turn it off and change TwLauncher to the default home? That's what I did last night, but I didn't get the update.

Do I need to completely remove Open Home and GDE from the phone to get the update?

Is it true that you need 3G to receive the update? It isn't listed in the recommendations from T-Mobile. Does anyone know for sure? Because, I don't have a data plan.

That's actually not a bad idea. I might do that. I'm not sure if you have to remove it, but I would assume you just need to not be using it. In all reality though, I doubt you even need to be using TWiz. Just a step to avoid in troubleshooting those who don't get it.

I know you can be using Edge, but I'm not sure with your case and having to use WiFi. May want to ask tech support from TMobile.
