What do you back up? (full data reset)

It seems this gets easier every time I do it. Thanks to cloud storage and mature apps, today about the only things I feel compelled to back up before wiping my phone and starting with a clean slate are my Nova and Sound Profile profiles. I also make note of my Touchdown settings. Games save...

    Misconceptions about Maxx

I've read and watched a bunch of reviews, and waded through a thicket of forum posts and comments sections, and made the following mental list of common misperceptions about the Maxx. I'm sure there are plenty more -- please add yours: - "Kevlar-coated back" or "Kevlar pattern" The back of the...

Light Flow appears to be an X8 battery suck...

I've been experimenting with Light Flow on my Maxx over the past two days. I have the full version, and initially installed it to see how it played with Active Notifications. (It doesn't -- not as far as affecting the display -- but it does oddly report finding 4 separate LEDs on the phone)...

Amazon dropped $40 off non-contract price...

Just an FYI, I see Amazon took their off-contract Maxx price down to $660 sometime this morning. That's only about a 5% discount, and there's still the question of when they'll have them in stock to ship, but at least it's not full price.

    Help Delete ALL alarms?

I tend to collect a lot of alarms under my Nexus Clock. I'm a fan of using the voice recognition on the home screen to "Set Alarm for One Thirty P M" and letting it go from there. Of course 1:30 comes, I dismiss the alarm, but I'm left with the remnants of the now unchecked alarm. And a dozen...

Wallet now supports his/hers credit cards on two devices...

Pardon me if this is old news; the last I looked into this was in December when I applied for Citi Mastercards for my wife and myself, specifically for our use with Google Wallet. Some internet postings plus follow up phone calls to Citi and Google confirmed any particular Mastercard account...

Help Alarm Clock "Notes" Field not visible... Shortcut?

So let's say I set an alarm... "Set alarm for three-thirty pm, follow up with Matt..." via the voice command. Great... alarm set, and in the alarm's "note" field it says "follow up with Matt," so I don't forget why I've set the alarm. Now then, when 3:30 rolls around and the alarm...

Help G. Wallet on phone not synced w/ Wallet online?

Posted this in the Apps forum a couple days ago with no bites; anyone here experiencing the same? Google Wallet on my Galaxy Nexus seems to be completely independent of my long-standing wallet.google.com account. I'm wondering if my account settings are crossed up, or is this supposed to be...

    G. Wallet on phone not synced w/ Wallet online?

I'm wondering if my account settings are crossed up, or is this supposed to be this way: Google Wallet on my Galaxy Nexus seems to be completely independent of my long-standing wallet.google.com account. That is to say, I've plugged my Citi Mastercard into GW on my phone, and all is OK, but...

New Facebook update today? (from 1.8.1?)

Did anyone else get an update notification on their Facebook page today? I did, from within the Facebook app itself. I thought this was a little odd (currently running 1.8.1, showing as current version in the market, with auto-update turned on), so I chose not to install it immediately. But...

Wide Angle Camera Lens for Galaxy Nexus...

Sharing these shots taken by Alex Koloskov and posted on his G+ account. I browsed the PhotoJoJo site he referenced but didn't see this lens. Not sure I'd want to go through the hassle of carrying this around, but I admit I love the effect...

Noticed stronger signal after Tuesday's outage?

Edit: *Wednesday's* outage Yesterday (Friday) was GREAT. I was pulling my hair out Wednesday due to the outage. Didn't know the network was down, and was cursing my phone due to all kinds of Nav problems and no signal in Fry's. Thursday, when things were back to normal (supposedly), I had a...

Nexus updates: How is this divvied between Goog, VZW & Sammy?

So I'm aware that GNex updates are expected to come directly from Google, I'm down with that. But my question delves a little deeper... Google is clearly responsible for ICS and, I suppose, how it relates with the phone's hardware. But would it be Google who would code updates to the camera...

Anybody seen USB Host Mode demonstrated yet?

Title says it all: I've watched a bunch of the Nexus hands-on videos posted up on various websites today, but none demonstrating the USB Host Mode (specifically plugging a USB flash drive into the MHL / micro-USB port and reading/writing to it). Anybody got anything on this feature? Was it...
