  • I canceld my cox internet and use this in place of it. I like it because now I have full internet anywhere I go on my laptop, nook, tablet, or anything. Speeds vary depending on where you are, I live at 19th street and Cactus, and when I have my laptop tethered, I often pull about 2.2 megs/sec down. Although, it can be slower in other locations. I would keep your Quest initially, and give the Sprint HotSpot on your EVO a try for a month, since you can cancel at anytime. If you are only getting 500kbps with Quest, I bet you will be happier with Sprint. Also, your manager is only partially right, I have been getting Sprint 4G on my EVO in north Phoenix (7th street and Bell Rd area), it is fast (8megs/sec down) and the signal is strong. So, Hopefully that means that it is just around the corner for all of Phoenix. Also, Verizons, 4G is pretty weak in then Phoenix area, my girlfriend lives in Goodyear, and there is no Verizon 4G there. Good luck! -Ben
I have had good luck using Sprint and my EVO as a hotspot for my home internet connection. It has provided good connection, and it has been my full time connection at home the last 4 months. I have only had two devices feeding off of it, and it has not slowed it down at all. I use about 10gb a month, and have not had any issues with Sprint... they've been great. You can activate the mobile hotspot with sprint for 30bucks a month... If you are not happy, you can cancel at any time.... there is no contract with the hotspot add on (really nice!).
