Analyst believes Google will make the Android Runtime code proprietary
Technology analyst Richard Windsor believes that Google is getting ready to make the core bits of the Android OS proprietary.

He believes that a "highly confidential internal project" is currently happening behind the scenes where Google is rewriting "the ART runtime [and] removing any lingering dependencies from the freely downloadable open source AOSP (Android Open Source Project) code base."

For me, this is the way Google should go. I've always used nexus lines of devices and my wife non-nexus android phones. The quality of underlying operating system and speed of the phone, functionality etc are way better in nexus lines. Just do it.
