    Court tells LG to pay $3.5 million to Core Wireless for violating 2 smartphone UI patents
    LG has been in a patent lawsuit against an IP management company named Core Wireless. The company owns ~1,700 patents across 250 patent families and they claimed LG was violating two of these patents.

    LG ended up losing this lawsuit today in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. As a result, LG has been ordered to pay a $0.10 per unit royalty fee to Core Wireless, which amounts to $3.5 million in damages.
