    Google Assistant begins rolling out to devices
    Google Assistant is officially rolling out to devices running either Android Marshmallow or Nougat in the US. Assistant will arrive on your device via an update to Google Play Services.

    I'm on the Google play services beta program on the S7 and still don't have it..

    Yeah, it's looking like a per-account server-side switch.

    I hate those - no way to force it.

    I have it now with the Magisk module but actually prefer now on tap over this.. I can't select words in a temporary screenshot (as in not saved in gallery) with this but now on tap has that.

    Yep. And that's one of the things I love about NOT / Screen Search.

    Hopefully this will gain that ability soon... I know there are a lot of Pixel users missing it.

    Should come to any phone in the US with Android 6.0+ and Google Play Services initially. Other languages/regions to follow.

    Nope, Assistant won't (currently?) support pre-6.0 since the contextual API used by Assistant was introduced in that Android release.
