Google backtracks on its promise of transient storage of your Allo messages
When Allo was unveiled at I/O this year, Google promised that your messages would not be stored permanently on its servers. With today's launch of Allo, transient storage of your messages is not even an option. Google has chosen to store the messages permanently on its servers since it helps Google Assistant - the feature Google is most interested in. Allo users can use the Incognito Mode if they don't want their messages to be stored by Google and there's always the option to delete old messages manually.
