Google engineer says they're evaluating btrfs for its potential use in Android
Btrfs, otherwise known as butter F S, better F S, b-tree F S and even butterface, doesn't have support for native file-based encryption and this is the main reason why Google hasn't looked into the filesystem in more depth. However, now that developers know Google is interested in encryption for btrfs, this could mean it gets support soon and that could result in Google dropping EXT4 in favor of it.
