Services like Uber and Lyft are great for finding taxis, but they lock riders into using their own services. Karhoo is aiming to change that. The company revealed its service as an Uber-like ride-hailing service. The difference is that instead of providing their own drivers, they create an open platform that lets existing companies tap into it. The service will launch first in the UK, wit 80,000 drivers from half a dozen companies already being on board. The company has plans to expand to New York and Singapore down the line.
