720p Comparison: Evo 4G vs. iPhone 4 (Side-by-Side)

Look fellas..I have 3 different phones right now. The Moto Droid, The EVO and I traded for an iPhone 4G this morning. I'm not activating the iPhone because of AT&T...I will just tether it to the Droid. I will have to say that the HD Video is amazing. It's better than some of my handheld HD camcorders that use an sd card. I like all three phones and haven't anything bad to say about either of them but this thread was about comparing the video of the EVO and the iPhone..there is no comparison. Having said that, the Droid and the Evo have things that are better also. Bottom line, Just be happy with what you got..theres always something better that will come along. Go Android!

Seriously guys, pointing out a shortcoming of our device isn't going to hurt anyone.

Agreed that the Evo can't hang in this arena. I ended up disappointingly buying the Flip Camera I was holding off on because of how disappointing the Evo performs in HD video. I'm hopeful this will be fixed with future upgrades from HTC, because the hardware is there to have exceptional quality.

The worst part of this comparison is that it looks better on 360p. Turning it to 720p actually just showcases more high ISO noise.

How about you pull your head out your ass and do a search before posting. This topic has been posted multiple times already  Or maybe you're just that stupid.

No, actually, it hadn't. The thread was fresh as of last night, and I was bringing that particular video comparison to this forum's attention.

Thanks, once again, for your comprehension challenged opinion.

Well if you were smart (which you are not, fact not opinion) you would have done a search before posting your redundant thread. Your search would have returned many threads on this subject already. You should have posted your video in one of those like any intelligent person would do. Instead you started another thread like an idiot (fact not opinion) and cluttered up the forums.

But hey, thanks for bringing us useless and out dated news. Oh and I agree, the iPhone does take better video than the Evo, but I think everyone already knew that.

You bring to me the thread, bringing to the attention that exact video comparison, and I'll apologize.

Until then, crawl back in your hole.

You guys should expect to see a bunch of video comparisons because the Iphone is the "benchmark" and IMO video is the only thing the IP4 clearly has over the Evo. The Iphone Video is clearly better. There is no need to make excuses.

If that is enough to send you to an Iphone, have at it. I don't like seeing everyone with the same phone as me.

Anybody want to show a video of someone on there EVO using 3G or 4G having a video call with someone at home on skype and then try making the same video using an iPhone.....

Anybody want to go for a drive and with an AT&T phone and a Sprint phone for 15 minutes and then see who's call is still going on and who's call has dropped......

Anybody want to show the EVO's huge screen next to the smaller then my TP2's iPhone4 screen.

Anybody want to compare the widgets on my home screen with the widgets on the iPhone4's home screen?

Anybody want to compare the true multi tasking of android next to the iPhone4's mutlitasking?

Anybody want to compare streaming video using both networks and see which comes through better with less load time?

In the end, I will take the extra and better features the EVO has and live with the subpar camera for now.

I'm watching divx movies on my evo right now. Can you compare divx playback on the iphone please? Oh wait....

This thread was about video recording. Not a phone comparison thread. The EVO doesn't compare to the iPhone's video recording. It's gonna be okay. You will live...

Are you serious? Do you really not get it? You have absolutely zero reading comprehension

If you don

You have to concede the video quality on the iPhone being better than that of the Evo. There is little question, in my mind. My only contribution is this: It still looks like it was recorded on a cell phone. It looks better than what I am used to on cell phones, but it is nothing more than a slightly better solution in a pinch. I think both phones will allow for a great YouTube video of a funny moment at a bar or a quality capture of a baby's first steps. The iPhone might look better, but, honestly, until we get to something that rivals that of a good point & shoot camera (my Panasonic TZ-5 still has better video than the iPhone 4) or even camcorders, "good enough" will still suffice in this particular aspect of a phone. Congrats Apple, you win this round, it just doesn't really bother me that much to tell you that.
