The Droid X website made mention of 2.2 availability as well.
"Flash 10.1 available late summer"

And I read on a verizon email as well that 2.1 will come on the phones with 2.2 coming in late summer.

I wouldn't put much faith in that. The CEO of Motorola says 'late summer'. End of July isn't late summer.

lol people are in for a surprise. We went through the motions with 2.1 too. Prediction: Motorola stutter releases in August..it's released to the MileStone late september. Verizon fumbles with rollout until about October or November...just like last time.

that's a lot of crap, hopefully this isn't the case. I guess they don't like to release updates......

Well, I sure as heck didn't think June, but I was hoping for early July. I think October is too pessimistic - surely they've learned something about porting to the Droid from the 2.1 experience - but I'd believe sometime in August is likely.

Hopefully beginning of August because the usb tethering sure will come in handy on my tirp to hawaii. Hotels charge sh*t loads for wifi connections.

Once the source code gets released, (next week or two?) the rooted roms will be worth using. They mostly are now.

The pic says "Planned Late July" which means it will be August. You know they will find something last minute that will make them delay. But I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Most of the time it is Verizon that delays things not Motorola. I seriously doubt it will be out before November..... Honestly, I think Dec/Jan 2011 is much more likely...
