I think it's important that we try not to get too heated and raise our collective blood pressure.
There is value, however, with filing complaints with the FTC if you're order is shipped late and you are not receiving accurate updates. Lawsuits and citizens arrests, while amusing, will likely prove ineffective. I posted this earlier today, but it's proven that the FTC will go after companies who violate shipping regulations. See
Project TooLate for an example.
If you want to make some waves, contact the Consumer Reporter at your local TV station. If you live near a city there is a good chance one of the networks has a reporter that handles consumer complaints. I spent time working for one of these departments at a major affiliate on the East coast and the best emails and calls were the ones where there was a clear violation of rights by a large company against multiple people. There were multiple times when the state AG's office contacted us for more information. And often times, after running the story, more people would come forward with similar complaints. Usually, after being notified of the story the company acted quickly to resolve the issue. I know that's unlikely here, but maybe they can at least step up their corporate responsibility and disseminate some accurate information.
Bad press is worse than any number of complaints you can lodge with a low level customer service rep.
That said, let's try and remain calm and polite as we suffer together and hope that a late Incredible is the worst of our troubles.
Have a good weekend. Here's to looking forward to Monday.
