leather pouch is a surprise !! I see samsung gives some extra to indian owners... :)

one more, for getting on to airtel gprs, do you have to set the APN manually in settings or it got it automatically ?

I believe you have to sign in to your google acount to get android market working, hope that was not a problem for you

good to know your +ive feedback, planning to get this one over Desire :)

post some more pictures if you can ...

well guys,...initial impresssions--
1. Best screen iv'e seen on a mobile phone till date.
2. really responsive touch screen(can be compared to iphones).
3. no lag at all.
4. gps takes some time inside the house, but outdoors it's pretty good.
5. really light weight(alarming at first, then you realize you didn't put the battery in):D,still really light.
6.1 year warranty
7.i tested a 720p video and it played perfectly on the phone,
8.It does feel a bit plasticky,but not cheap(it's actually a weird mix).
9. External speakers are not bad,but I've seen better, but really good if you put headphones on.

i personally didn't like the design of the desire, but it's ur call, desire feels more sturdy in the hand and has flash.

Thanks for your impressions, krammikk :)

I do have a couple of questions for you:

1) Do you get full signal indoors (or at least as much as you used to get on your previous phone)? One of the complaints I've heard about is the mediocre signal reception.

2) You said you played some 720p videos, right? Were the colors natural? Did the colors in the video seem a pleasure to watch (and not with inaccurate/unrealistic colors)?

3) Any idea if this supports both HSDPA/HSUPA frequencies of BSNL 3G?

4) You mentioned that "GPS takes some time inside". Does it lock on to satellites after a while, at least? Or did it just keep bouncing from one satellite to another? Did you try it with A-GPS enabled or pure GPS?

5) Only 256MB of the 512MB RAM is usable currently, right?

6) Also, could you post a pic of the leather pouch with the SGS in it when the case is open (to use the phone) if it isn't too much trouble?

Enjoy your new phone! :)

1.signal is pretty much the same.
2.Well... ,they seemed pretty accurate to me,but it depends from person to person,so you really can't take my word for this one.
3.I read somewhere that it supports it,im not sure where though(i remember the frequencies matched).
4.It bounced for some time and then locked on.
5.yes
6.The second picture i posted has the phone inside it,you can't use the phone when it's in the pouch,it's just a leather case for protection i think.

can you check how much internal memory is present which will be used to install apps...I guess you can see in settings -> sd card and memory -> it should be mentioned there, if you can give a pic of that screen it would be gr8 :)

INTERNAL--

there is an internal sd card with 13.43gb mem and then internal phone storage of 1.75gb.-----total internal memory=15.18gb

EXTERNAL
i added an 8gb micro sd card

wonderfull...the new launcherpro v0.6.2 has option for a 3d menu like nexus one...should be smooth, which compass app u installed or was there any pre installed ?

- Most interestingly...is there voice search, a mic at the right side of google search bar widget ....

- does the web browser support flash ? can you see the flash content on browser ?

- can you do pinch to zoom on browser and gallery and is it smooth ?
