So is the EVO old news now?

I understand this this, although it could still be a troll thread.
Everybody wants the biggest, baddest and latest whatever. That's part of the reason I bought this phone, It was all of those things for a short moment.

It's still the best Spring has and I love the thing but in the grand scheme of phones it was top dog for only a few weeks. That's kind of a bummer.

I haven't seen the new commercial, I heard part of it, but I hope it's better than the 1st.
IMO it sucked. Another surreal commercial that I at least don't get.

If you buy an Android phone you can expect it to be the king only for a few weeks. It's not an iphone with a release once a year.
There's a reason more Android phones were sold in Q1 vs. iphone. It's more devices and more carriers which means more options for consumers. It also means the tech moves faster.
There's already talk of phones with 1.5GHZ snapdragon, they'll be here soon enough.

This is all good for those who use Android phones, it just means more developement will be done for these phones (both as apps and the OS itself).

160,000 devices a day, the Droid ads and the great HTC and Motorola devices are the reason, it's all good...

If you need to always have the latest and greatest, either be prepared to pay a lot every few months, or become an Apple fanboy so you can do it only once a year

The HTC EVO IS SO OUTDATED!

JK. It's not outdated at all. How could Sprint's flagship phone be outdated? It's one of the fastest phones out right now with the Droid X, Galaxy S, and iPhone 4. I wouldn't say that's outdated. An outdated Droid would be like the HTC Droid Eris or original Droid (when the Droid 2 comes out).

A month after Droid x comes out it will be old news too. I do think it's. funny though how when evo first was reviewed it was the best ****ing think on the plane. Now, less than a month later, all I keep hearing is how much of a piece of shot the evo is. All these 30fps cap threads , slow performance, etc. (my evo is still awesome though. )

Can rooting the EVO get rid of the 30fps cap??

Well there are a couple of problems:

Sprint doesn't know how to advertise

Htc intentionally crippled the device which required root to fix and hundreds of development hours from hackers to make right

Low stock because of production changes

New devices coming out every there months without the crippling caps

What does that spell? Sprint failing on another device release. Most of this shit should haber been caught in testing. No excuse.

The evo is still a good phone, just nothing close to what it should have been.

How can anyone say this phone has failed. It's selling out everywhere. Just because it doesn't have the apple hype machine behind it doesn't make it a failure. Why would sprint spend millions to advertise a phone that will be replaced in less than a year? Plus they know it's the only 4G game in town so the media is advertising for them.

What is the return rate? I'm seeing people on their 3rd EVOs...
