Accessories EVO Screen Protectors Thread

I had a ZAGG shield on my touch pro 2 and after a few months it developed condensation under the protector. At first i thought it was the protector itself so I had ordered a new one. Upon removal of the first I realized that the condensation streak was in the screen. I figure this to be a result of me having the phone in the change/coin pocket of my jeans during times that I was sweating which is typical of my work. So I now have an Evo and last night after work i noticed the same condensation forming.. Yes it went away after a bit but that's what it did on the touch pro 2 but after the 3rd or 4th time it seemed to stay longer and longer and eventually became permanent. Has anyone else had this happen?

I just replaced my Zagg with a cheapie that came bundled with a case from ebay and WOW, what a difference. From the start I didn't really like the sticky, rubbery feeling of the Zagg, or the orange peel visual, but I didn't know how bad the thing actually was until I replaced it. This is my first go-round with screen protectors so I just figgered that's what I had to put up with. I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong, and BOY was I wrong.

The cheapie is crystal clear, smooth as glass (and feels almost as hard), not sticky or rubbery to the touch (swype and pinching is MUCH easier, among others), and is just all-around worlds better than the $$$ Zagg POJ, plus it went on super easy with NO dust or bubbles and it fits the screen very well, at least as well as the Zagg if not better. I also got a Steinheil Ultra Crystal but I'm happy enough with the no-name that I'm going to keep it on until it either falls off or I find a good reason to replace it.

Just my .02 from a n00b - heed at your peril. :D

Has anyone used the HTC branded screen protectors? I bought them yesterday, but I'm not 100% sure I want to keep them. Upon closer inspection, it looks like it's just a rectangle that covers up the entire front, and not a custom cut.

I have been using the sprint store ones that just cover the screen. They come 3 in a pack, 2 clear 1 antiglare. Well, used the clear first week but applicaton was not perfect, some dust got under it. Have been using the anti-glare one but have not liked it. Made the screen look pixely, so last night while watching a video that looked really bad, looks worse as you increase brightness, I just said screw it and took the protector off. Wow, what a difference. The screen looks amazing now. Will never buy sprint store products again, a total waste. They don't stand behind their products, couldn't return them even the first week.

need some help fellas..this will be the first time i bought a screen protector foo my phone...I have went naked with every phone i've had and all though i'm careful i "ALWAYS" drop it once or twice forgetting it's on my lap getting out of my car and that is enough to **** ur phone up.Anyway going with a case (i'll ask in other thread about that) and a screen protector.I was going to just get best buy to do it but think they use zagg and from this thread seems like they're not the greatest and don't feel good on the finger type.I want a protector that feel like the evo's original screen, helps with fingerprint, and just overall durable and the best product

basically i just want the eo to look and feel as close to it is now with being able to protect from scratches.I don't want to get one that makes the screen look any worse or not feel like the orignal screen does

Put on my PhantomSkinz last night, so it's been 12 hours now. It looks like crap. Most of the little bubbles are going away, but some big ones randomly appeared. And, there is this strange wavy pattern that looks like a bunch of 1/4" scratches near the top. If this thing doesn't improve dramatically in the next twelve hours, I'm ditching it and going for a Steinheil.

I went through 2 phantom skinz and switched to steinheil. The phantom skinz probably won't clear if it hadn't already, you really need to push the bubbles out right when you are doing it the first time.

I was just wondering. I just put on my Skinomi protector and after about 12 hours it still has a ton of air pockets it seems. I heard that they go down after a few days but mine look pretty bad. Does anyone have pictures of what their phone looked like 12 hours after putting on their skin? I guess i want to know if i need to order a new one or should i just wait this one out.

So for the past two days I have been toying with something on my own phone as a guinee pig . I have a Zagg Invisible sheild screen protector on mine . I know I have heard some complain that this shield feels rubbery to some and don't like the feel . Me I have to admit I to at times dont like the rubbery feel but have mostly got used to it . Friday I tried somethign different with the shield . I applied Eagle One Nanowax to the shield itself and let it dry . Why I thought of this I have no idea but I did it anyways . I figured if it screwed up the shield I could just get a cheap set of screen protectors anyways since I have had this one for a while . Not only did it not take some of the fine scratches out of the shield but it also made the thing feel like glass again . Finger print and smudges are reduced considerably and there is no smearing on the shield . I purchased my shield four months ago so assuming if you want to do this I would try it on a very small part of the shield first to see if it will cause any reactions.I dont think it will to be honest since I believe they are produced using the same material now as they did several months ago . I seriously can not get over the change in how this thing feels now . Smooth as glass . The stuff I used was the liquid Eagle One NANOWAX that comes in a dark blue bottle and has a metallic grey sprayer top to it .
(How I applied it) I grabbed a microfiber cloth and sprayed alittle of the NANOWAX to the corner of the cloth , I rubbed that corner on the shield and tried to smear it over most of the shield , clean the shield before hand with your normal cleaner . After smearing the nanowax over the shield I let the sheild sit till the liquid dried and created a light haze. Took a clean part of the microfiber cloth and wiped up the extra . Further care after this I would not recommend a cleaner it might strip the nanowax off . Just a quick wipe with a clean micro fiber should clear most smears or dirt off . Like I said before I only applied this to the shield , I would not recommend applying it to all over the phone ROFL

So do you think Steinheil is better than Clarivue? Me and my friend need new protectors. I think Clarivue is what we have. And my friend just got the Tranmsform and hates the way makeup always gets on the screen I need to get her a good one. Do they make a good one for makeup? Is that the antiglare ones?

same here, agreed 150%

You guys are getting raped.
I highly recommend XtremeGuard.
I buy all my screen protectors from him.

The website is xtremeguard.com I think...
But it's cheaper to find him on eBay.

You can't beat the price. He doesn't send you a squeegee and spray bottle. Worth the 90% price difference.

$2.49 per screen protector.
