Am I the only one who doesn't think Swype is the greatest thing since sliced bread?

Like most people I'm going to give it a couple weeks to see how fast I can get at it. Ultimately I think it could work really well and so far with just a little use I'm pretty surprised at how well it all works. I'm waiting for the novelty of it all to wear off to see if I still like it then. That's the real test.

^^^ this, does not work well with protector, in my experience, anyone find one that slides well?

Edit: Love swyping ;)

I got the Boxwave Anti-Glare screen protector because it was the smoothest of all the ones I tried. It rocks for Swype and ShapeWriter.

I have used both and prefer ShapeWriter but I'm giving Swype another try. Swype's keyboard seems to be laid out better but I don't like where their text prediction box opens.

For my old WinMo Omnia, it was the bee's knees. Unfortunately for Swype, the DINC's keyboard allows me to really use 2 hands in portrait (thumb and index). Swype was slick looking but I dunno, didn't want to get used to it and some of the stuff the stock keyboard is just something I dont want to live without; auto-space, auto-period, better word suggestions...

Then I got the Droid X keyboard, holy bajesus I love this keyboard. If I could have tactile feedback it would be hands down the best keyboard. I could get 40 words per minute on the fast fingers keyboard speed test in portrait!
Where do you download the droid X keyboard? Thank you for your help.

I love it. I couldn't imagine entering text on my phone without it. It's great for short texts. It's great for long texts. It's great for in between texts. I'm much faster than I ever was with the stock keyboard. Whatever they end up charging for this thing, I'll pay. It's like crack now.

This is exactly how I feel too. When I'm inputting text on anything else it feels slow and awkward by comparison. Even if iPhone 5 is on Verizon some day, and had killer features I don't think I could leave Swype behind and would stick with the best android phone available.

Shape writer is way better. I like the easy it handles double letters . Also the uppercase feature is way better too.

Shapewriter is great if you never need to type underscores, or other such characters. Unfortunately I use underscores in a lot of my usernames (like this one). They're both pretty great (I'm going to try SlideIT). The day after swype expired and when I got the new Beta was pretty long.

I love swype. It has a few minor annoyances on the HTC Incredible, but it's better than many keyboards I have tried.

You have to get used to using it, and there are shortcuts that I stumbled upon that makes it really nice to use. In other words, it's probably best to read their tutorials and manuals to get the most of it. A month later, I haven't done that... I probably should :)
