Extremely irritated with Verizon.

New River, AZ.
So I have a squeaky clean account with Verizon, four lines, all smart phones minus one phone. NEVER missed a payment and always upgraded. I have had plenty of problems with my phones but never complained too much or created issued. I have been very nice with them, but I've about hit my limit here.

We have a defective Moto Droid on our account, and a defective Incredible. They have already agreed to give me an X for my Incredible. But, they have sent us not one, but now 3 refurbrished phones that are crap. The screens have ALL been loose, and the build has been absolute crap compared to the original phone. They are sending me another one from a different warehouse tomorrow. I am so irritated. If I receieve another refurb with a loose screen and bad build I don't think I am going to be able to deal with Verizon very nicely.

What do you think I should do? Should I be nice and wait for ANOTHER refurb if this one is bad? Or should I get mad and tell them they can take there refurb backs and send me a NEW phone?

Id day see what the fourth is like. Motorola's QC is really hit or miss with the Droid. My reburb was like new, but I hear many horror stories like yours.

Ya I couldn't believe the same thing with all the phones. You couldnt even slide the screen down without it locking, the first one felt like it was going to just about fall off even. I'm like shocked about this I've never had this problem before. :(

I know after a few phones within a certain amount of time Verizon will help you out, either by giving in and giving you a new phone, or they will upgrade you early to a new upgrade. Be patient young grasshopper! Verizon has never done me wrong yet, and I've been with them for a long time. :D

Lol. Let's hope! They need to throw me a bone here. An early upgrade would be nice.

What you have to undetstand is by getting more replacements of the same phone your problem isnt with verizon it's truly an issue with motorola. Verizon is doing you a solid by giving you an x or any other android phone instead of going with a manufacturers warranty. I hope you get the problem resolved though soon!

I had to get my Motorola Droid replaced, I got one in, and it was a perfect build but the notification light was bad...

I told the guy the notification light didn't go off when getting an email or a text, he then started arguing with me that I didn't have an email account setup... How did my phone work then *smack head*.

Anyways, I got a new one in and this one is solid and works like a champ like the original.

I do understand the refurbs do not come from Verizon. Motorola, RIM, HTC send bulk replacement refurbs back to Verizon after Verizon sends them the faulty ones. But still, they should be checked over by Verizon before sending them out you know? It's barely 7 months old and I just think it's silly how much trouble it's been. It's going to cost them more and more money every time they send refurbs out lol.

I get the X because all Incredibles are under 60 day worry free guarantee rather than 30, and I needed a replacement, and they couldnt get me one for a month and a half. Soooo I settled on the X so I could have a phone that worked sooner rather than half a century later.

I hope that I get lucky tomorrow and get one like you.

Verizon used to have a policy of after 4 phones being defective they'd send you a different model. They changed that policy a few months ago and its now standard procedure to keep sending the same refurbished model out till the customer is satisfied.

I went through this process month ago with my samsung omnia. After a 5 refurbs I finally called customer service instead of tech support. I complained that the phones the kept sending me were crap and that I was considering terminating my contract because I didn't have a phone that worked for a month. I may have also mentioned something about going to at&t, and maybe gotten a little more angry than usual. Well after that the lady offered to send me any phone I wanted, and I now have the Droid.

Be warned though because all the phones they send out are refurbished. I doubt you'd get a new one no matter how hard you try

I had my original droid from launch day and called about my headphone jack and was VERY nice and the guy said well we are out of refurbs so ill just have them send you a new one in a box with all accessories and you only send back the empty phone and no back. So I now have two batteries, two 16gb cards, two chargers, well you get it. I also told the guy that I was disappointed they got rid of VIP because we didn't get to use the 50 off a one year and I had planned to use for this year around Christmas and he said, " I am sorry to hear that so I will give you an 10 percent off for the next six months to help you accumulate 50 dollars and more in savings to use towards a one year upgrade!" So it is all about how you act and how the rep sounds. If they are not nice at hello I hang up and restart! I have NEVER been disappointed ever in the entire time I have had them!
