how do i turn off data stream? i have the limited 200mb plan and can't go over

hey guys, got my phone a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it! problem is i'm playing with it too much and already got a text saying i'm at 65% of my data usage plan well before the billing cycle will be complete.. how can i turn off completely/minimize the data stream? so far i've done (Home>All programs Tab>Wireless & networks and uncheck the box for Mobile Networks) and (Settings>Accounts & Sync>Background data "Applications can sync, send, and receive data at any time")

i wanna just be able to use it at wifi spots so i don't accrue any fees, think u can help me? thanks in advance!

I'm also new to the Aria, my suggestion is if you have AT&T to download the "My Wirless App". You'll be able to keep track of your usage. Before I purchased the phone I pulled up my useage over the past few months and I was only using around 70mb so the 200mb plan was a lock.

You may also want to go into the settings and uncheck the enalbe always on in mobile network settings. I think that even if you have the network off some apps may connect to sync.

Amateurs!! Noobs! Root the phone, swap sim cards, get $15 unlimited data, win win profit.

*claps* for the forum idiot.

the sim card has nothing to do with data...its the IMEI number. that tells the system what kind of phone you are using. Even if you saw the IMEI number, the cell towers will get pinged that you are using a smartphone and automatically change the IMEI.

as for the data, make sure you use wifi when ever you can. The mywrieless app is a good one but AT&T will also send you a text message telling you if you are at 60, 90, and 100% usage of your data so you know when you are close

i guess it's hearsay to you but those of us that are "stealing" unlimited data will keep it to ourselves.
