Keep my BB Bold 9650 or get the Evo 4G?

So, I am looking for some input here.

Heres my story:

I started my android Career on Verizon on the HTC Incredible, which I liked very much, but the battery life was Abysmal.

I chose to return it before the 30 days was up.

I switched to Sprint, to take advantage of the cheaper price plans...

I chose the BB Bold 9650 because I like blackberries, and appreciate their superior keyboards, battery life, voice quality etc... I also didn't want to be stuck with a non smartphone since I am on the anymobile plan.

But 2 weeks in I am having second thoughts....

Don't get me wrong the BB has been good to me, and I have access to the apps I need on the go, but something is compelling me to look over my shoulder at the Evo 4G.

I know that the Evo is essentially the exact same phone as the incredible except for

Larger 4.3 screen
front facing camera for video chat
and 4G.

These are all compelling features, however My market Tallahassee, FL does not have 4g service, and I do not believe we will get it for another year or 2 atleast.

This brings me to my question...

Is the battery life any better on the Evo than it was on the incredible?

Anyone can compare the two?

Is it worth it for me to pay 10.00 extra for 4g when I have no access to the service for atleast a year or 2?

Do i really want the Evo? or am I happier on the Blackberry...

I can't decide..

Id love to hear others opinions.

Convince me to swap my Bold to Evo or vice versa - SprintUsers.com

that is my thread on sprint users

i used the Bold 9650 for 28 days and decided to swap it for teh Evo4g,

I mainly text, facebook, and browse the web. BB is better at texting and i like the facebook app more. Evo obliterates BB in web browsing.

I do light email, my only email is facebook notifications really and some daily Networking tips etc.

I'm going through withdrawl like symptoms waiting for my Evo to come, but to be totally objective, if battery life on the Incredible was a deal breaker for you, I can't see how any feature on the Evo, aside for the larger screen, would improve your experience (although the larger screen is exactly why I went for the Evo). So I suggest you take another look at the Evo screen and think about the battery life of your Incredible and then decide if that's a good trade-off for you.

I think the battery magically seems to get better the longer you have the Evo ... ok, not magically, but it seems once the shine wears off and you start using it in a normal way (normal being not being in constant use), it tends to last a bit longer. At least that's the case with me :) If I have a strong signal, it lasts all day with moderate use. With minimal use, I get around 30+ hours on a charge. I never use Bluetooth, rarely use wifi, and only use GPS when I need it.

The newness factor the first couple weeks definately has alot to do with it. I was worried about the battery when I first got the phone, it has not been a factor at all. The phone is killer.

I was a blackberry tour user and must say that I miss it less than zero. EVO pretty much blows it out of the water. In my "opinion" Blackberry is pretty much dead unless it's used for business. Trying to do anything on the internet is like using dial up internet...by the time you get where you want to be you don;t even care anymore. It's a total nightmare. Don't miss the Qwerty keyboard...thought I would but nope! All hail EVO!!

I have to admit I did not read all the posts on this thread. But I can tell you from experience coming from a BB tour, you will not regret going with the HTC EVO 4G, the 4.3inch screen is all well worth the change. I loved my BB tour but the screen size has its limitations. I love the EVO screen, I dont have to tether anymore to my laptop because I dont need to. Battery life can be extended by the 20 tips for longer battery life. Look it up. Take it from someone who used the tour for more than a year. GET AN EVO!!!!!

well, if youre "very" satisfied with the BB, then keep it. You have a great plan if youre on Sprint. But, I will say... the internet experience you mention is night and day between the BB and the EVO. Surfing the web on the EVO is second to none. And will only get better with the 2.2 upgrade on the way. But, like i said, if youre happy... keep it that way.

I love my EVO.

I also own the Tour 9630 as my secondary phone and i would pick my Evo(actually pretty much all Android phones) anyday over any BB. Just one thing about Blackberry's is you cant beat their battery life its a hard thing to expect any phone not just an Android phone to have better battery life then any Blackberry the one good thing of my 9630 is i can go two days of moderate use out if it and I've had it for a year now. I would highly recommend going on a eBay and getting an extra battery and an external charger off eBay you can get 2 generic batterys(the ones i got are really good for generics batterys) and 1 external charger for around 10 dollars.
