today i went to see family. my uncle and my aunt both have iphones. it was hilarious how much they loved it. They had this picture in their living room but didn't know what city it was from so I took a pic with goggles and bam everything about the city. they were shocked. The artwork all came up too. Pictures of plants although it said failed search the images on the bottom were accurate. my aunt being from korea was infatuated with the english/korea translation. the google sky, turn maps with audio, google earth.

Funny part is my uncle was like fine lets test the speed so we both open up speedtest and he gets like 4.5mb/s and im at like 1.4mb/s (3g) and he's like yeah atleast the iphone is faster (even though my pages loaded first). That bugged me for like an hour. how can att be 4mb a sec? I know they can get some awesome speeds but thats crazy. sure enough i checked his settings later and the slick old fart was connected to his wifi. so i turned it off and he got 600kbs on 3g.

so he spent the next hour watching evo vs iphone4 video's on youtube. I loved it after hearing him talk about his iphone all the time for the last 2 years.

suffice to say they ended up asking when their contracts are up. think i made some converts.

I know not informative but i figured id share anyway.

After over a month, I don't have to show it off any more. My iPhan friends automatically just ask "hey, can you do ...."

I'm usually pretty even in my response, but I do make a point to really nail them when it comes to connecting to the network since they still have issues in the NY-NJ-PA corridor.

Most of my friends are sports fans so I love it when we check sports scores. They're limited to apps and websites. I have that plus ESPN on Sprint TV, and it's just killing them that I see highlights whenever I want.

But I'd have to say the absolute best thing is when I see their reactions when I ask, "If the next iPod Touch had FaceTime, what would be the point of the iP4?" They don't like me when I go there.

My next stunt will be catching them near the end of billing cycles and asking them to do some major downloads and data-intensive activities. They're going to balk. Even iPhans have some limit to how much $ they'll devote to their lemons.

My sis ...bro in law & the rest of his family all of them iphone fanatics ... finally convinced my bro in law to convert into EVO. He's only getting one EVO right now but I'm sure Sprint is about to get 11 new contracts.

I think EVO is a god send for people who were just plain up tired hearing about iphone this iphone that from all these years.

I got my EVO on launch day and LOVE IT!!! My husband had decided to get an I-phone but after playing with my EVO got one about a week after I did. Was showing it to my brother and my dad who both used I-phone and they BOTH broke their contracts with ATT and got EVO's! Needless to say I think ATT is going to be losing a lot more customers to Sprint in the near future. Phones aside Sprint offers the best data plan out there right now. I have 5 phone lines on my Sprint account 3 Evo's, 1 Blackberry and a Touch Rumor with all unlimited data for $250 a month. I'm also lucky enough to live in a 4G area so the extra $10 a pop for the EVO's wasn't really an issue for me. Long Live EVO!!!!

Unfortunately, the iPhone has become the choice of physicians. When the iPhone 4 came out, all my partners had to have it. When I asked why they changed from their iPhone 3 or 3 GS they replied "because I can video chat with my wife." I asked if they were aware they BOTH had to be on WiFi for that to work, and of course they were not. They also didn't consider it to be an inconvenience that the only way they could have decent phone reception was to put the phone down and use speakerphone (when they held it in their hand the calls dropped routinely).

But, hey, listen to those funny fart apps! And I can have a Tigger sound when my wife calls me!

For smart people, they sometimes amaze me with their inability to look at anything beyond an iPhone. When I show them my Evo they ask if it can do something (e.g., bump) and when I say yes, they ask if I can do something else, like shazam, and I say yes, so they just keep grasping at straws trying to find something their phone does that mine doesn't.

The best part about Evo is that you can show it off, uncovered and in it's natural glory while still using it as a phone. Try that with the iP4!

Again I always start my shows with phone calls.

Oh, had a friend tell me my Evo wasn't good because it can't make calls while surfing. So I asked him to show that to me. Well ... seems he couldn't get signal and do either. Ha ha.

I must say if the EVO was to have the resolution of the iphone4 and or the super amoled it would have been own them all..but its still a great phone.

Thats the only thing i think is keeping this phone from destroying or should i say completely destroying other phones...If it had this i think it could make it the rest of this year being the best phone out.....

Glad your having fun and enjoying your phone' i enjoy reading stories like this from time to time not just the whole iphone vs evo but just to sign in and see a good feel story instead of the complaints.

Same here. I gotta say that it's refreshing to me to hear all of these positive stories. I came from the samsung moment and there were plenty of threads that tried to justify why it was better than an iphone... but there were no stories like this. Imo, threads like this are proof that the iphone killer of legend has now truly arrived.

The EVO 4G Kills the iPhone and performs the Autopsy....:D

Turns out it was the screen size and lack of features that killed the iPhone...

R.I.P:cool:

I get that too. 1 day a coworker asked if I could "say something and have it do searches?" I said YES, and I can take pictures, scan barcodes, get coupons and even talk to my navigation program... it'll locate a place, thing, price, food, hotel, product and service reviews... jeesh. he's going to get an evo, the screen won him over in the end.

I enjoy pulling out my evo at work, i have a supervisor going to get one, and my supervisor actually came up to me today and hes like so whats this i hear you got a new phone everyones talkin about in here. I pull it out and hes like wow and i told him about sprints plan and he may have that thought in the back of his mind of going from att to sprint. Theres another supervisor who got told by the security guard at my job that his iphone 4 sucked after i showed her sprint tv on my evo, and ever since then hes been trying to pull out his phone to get attention, but i just smile at the fact that people are awww over the nice big screen the evo has to provide a long with the user interface.
