First time actually taking this thing into a public place...

I agree that most people don't know why they dislike Sprint. Maybe it's the ugly yellow logo, but when I told my wife we were going to Sprint because of my company discount, she said she didn't like Sprint. I rolled my eyes because she said Sprint sucks just because of what other people were saying. "Other people" just talk too much about stuff they have no experience with.

Now that she's on Sprint with an EVO, she can't put it down. Now, I'm not saying all of the people that don't like Sprint have no experience with Sprint, but some of the people she was talking about had push to talk devices, which are on the iDEN network. They could be talking about that part of Sprint.

My coverage has been excellent, except at my apartment where I have 0 to 3 bars, but I live on the bottom floor in a valley like complex arrangement. Can't really blame Sprint for that because outside I get 4-6 almost everywhere I go.

so true! people only bitch and complain when they have a bad experience. rarely do you hear someone talk about the great experience from company X. but when company X has done something "wrong" or has a problem, then people want to talk about how bad of an experience they had.
ive been with sprint for over 10 years and overall i have been satisfied. but there were a few years when the customer service really sucked! i will say that sprint has fixed the issues i have had in the past very quickly.

I've never had a problem with Sprint and I've been a customer for over 12 years. As far as advertising, I've seen the EVO4g everywhere- fashion magazines, web sites, television commercials, etc. I think it just takes a while to sink into the general public's brain. They probably should have started advertising way sooner than they did. A lot of the ads I've seen have been since the phone was released. Also, I don't think HTC is as well known of a brand as Motorola and the fact that Motorola chose to name their phone the Droid helps with the brand recognition/relationship to Android. I think plenty of people think the Droid/Droid2/Droid X is THE Android phone as opposed to just one of many.

I agree with that! Before I really did any research I wasn;t sure what "Android" was and what a "Droid" phone was.

Sprint's advertising for the EVO is EVERYWHERE around Dallas! Commercials all the time and ads on the street. They're really trying to get a share of this smartphone market before Verizon gets the iphone I bet. Spint really has a lot to offer with unlimited data, unlimited, mobile to mobile, 4G network, and NOT being AT&T's network!

Sprint used to be awful in my area. Buddy of mine used them years ago 'cause they were cheaper, but he never had signal. It was spotty even in the middle of town. So i was skeptical about switching from Alltel to Sprint, but it's worked out very well for me. My wife is even thinking of switching when her VZW contract is up, and she's a VZW fangirl lol
