As I had a Nokia N85 laying around, containing a 8gb micro sdhc class 6 memory card, i was planning on using this on my desire, since that only came with a 4gb card.

However, i formatted the 8gb card in windows, (to fat 32). (Ive might have formatted the partitions and everything as well)

But either the Desire or PC cant find my SD card at this point. When I put the 8gb card into my n85 and then connect the N85 to my pc, the computer finds it. My N85 has no problem locating the sd card either.

What to I have to do to the sd card to be able to use it with my Desire?

When I got my 16gb card on Amazon I noticed some reviewers were talking about problems using them with Nokia phones, apparently there are compatibility issues. If you can only access it through the phone then this could be the case. Its strange if its completely wiped that you can't see it on the computer though. Have you tried copying your data from the desire card onto it and seeing if that works?

I have a 8gb sandisk micro sdhc, it was from my old LG renoir. I was hoping when android 2.2 is released OTA and the ability to run and install apps on sd cards, that i could remove the standard 4gb and use the 8gb one as its double the space.

When i get some spare time ill simply copy the contents over from the 4gb standard card onto the 8gb card and try it in the phone. I'll keep you posted on what happens
