Help Battery draining on SGS. any tips?

Set your wifi to disable on lock screen.

Go into your settings and disable data roaming(especially if your at home and the phone is sitting on idle).

And if your not roaming or using the net while out, set your phone to 2G only.

I did this and had my phone at 100% from 5am when it finished charging til 11.30am when I finished my morning shift at work.

Also make sure your GPS features are set to wifi only as I had an app that was using GPS, ate my battery in 20% every 30 minute chunks from the moment I unplugged my phone from the charger.

Yep, turn wifi off and bluetooth off when not using them, try to avoid live widgets, live wallpaper, use powersaving mode, unless in sunlight use lowest brightness setting and avoid programs that run the background.

Also disable 3G connection, especially if you mainly use wifi.

I get 1-2 days out of my battery depending on usage and only lose around 2% over night. :)

I've just had to contact Samsung regards my battery life, only get 6-7 hours from a charge.
had the phone a week and for the first few days thought it was just the fact i was on it non stop, but with wifi off, gps off, sync off, setting network to 2g only got an extra hour from a charge.
theyre sending me a replacement battery so hopefully should be up to a day or so after that :)

I thought I had a faulty battery at one point, then realised one of my apps had a setting that was listed in brackets (high battery usage) and that was killing it.

I still use a live wallpaper (Galactic Core) but I have the settings on low//disabled, spins very slowly but still looks good, I would prefer a nice HD wallpaper TBH though, cant find any I like,, Also using beautiful Widgets.

One thing it comes down to that people dont realise is some people will use their phone often, check it every 15-30 mins throughout the day while at work or play games and watch videos through a whole lunch break while other people might check it once or twice or only when they get a call or text during the day, it makes a big difference too.

btw it was my galactic core livewallpaper that had "use orientation sensor" turned on and I didnt notice it. Drained the battery from 100% to 80% within 10 minutes of a full charge, I seriously thought my battery was screwed.

Apart from an app killer thats all I can think of, I leave wifi and GPS via network//wifi on. Doesnt seem to have any negative affect on my battery. Just make sure wifi is set to sleep when screen off.

I've found the major drain on my battery is its constant frantic attempts to find a cell. Reminds me of my friend's Nokia N95 which on the 3 network drained the battery constantly looking for a signal. Apparently it got better when he switched to o2. So, I wonder whether the battery life with regards to what I shall now call signal searching is different on various networks. I'm getting reasonable life on vodafone, unless I try to actually use the thing and don't turn it off during the night.

Thank you all for the responses. I have started switching off the wi-fi in the night and removed the heart bubbles live wall paper, appaware, FB & twitter widgets and got a 24hrs charge with good usage of calls, games, music & browsing. am also doing a full drain and charge cycle over this weekend and hope to imrpove it further.
