Accessories Seidio Innocase Acive: The Review!

I wish Otterbox would hurry up :(

I too was waiting for Otterbox to release their case for the Dinc. But could wait no longer and ordered the Seidio rugged combo kit.

And ...... I am very impressed. The rubber sleeve and heavy duty holster are very well designed. The combo kit is not cheap but having both holsters and protecting my Droid make it worth it.

hey, that's a NicE looking case! VERY NICE. do you feel it is safe enough if you dropped it? does the rubber part (the black inside, right?) go in front of the screen and prevent it from going flat against a table? also, the white part is like a plastic, right?

very tempted by this case now... i think i will see what otterbox and casemate come up with and compare... if i can wait that long.

I got the white one as well it looks and feels awesome. Best part about the Active case is how WELL it fits, when looking at the front of the phone you could almost say it was part of the phone. VERY impressed. Definitely a great case to make those iPhone users say "what in the world is that? that's a Droid?? that looks nice!".

tried the active case for two days, but switched back to the innocase today.

reasons why:
-the exposed rubber sleeve had too much stuff getting stuck to it. especially around the screen. it was distracting to me.
-the innocase just has a better 'feel' to it and for me, it seems like a better match for how i use my phone.

the active case is still better for overall protection, but innocase still offers some protection while having a better form factor, feel, and not accumulating the stuff around the rubber part imo. i know that's all totally subjective though. interested to see how others fare. maybe i'm just being too picky.

interesting, I feel exactly the opposite. I went from Innocase II to Active and in comparison the Innocase II feels cheap. The Active case makes the phone fit much better in my hand, at least for me, and I've never had a problem with stuff accumulating because of the rubber. Also the Innocase II damaged my screen protector, which would have been the bezel of the phone if I didn't have one. that + the white Active case (which looks NICE) made me switch pretty quick and not look back.

Can you post pictures of the white Active case? I'd love to see a few. I'm considering the white case as well.

Thanks!

i posted some just scroll up from your comment lol

Whoops, no clue how I missed that!

Looks sexy!

Out of curiosity:

Could you take a close up shot at just a slight angle to the horizontal to show off the depth of recess?

If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it. I saw that you said about a half mm above the lens...sounds the same as the high gloss silicone, which makes me thing the over all combination isn't much thicker than the silicone case, but it definitely looks like it.

Finally...is the hard shell case material..."bumpy" or really smooth? Looks bumpy, which I say is a good thing.

I think white is the nicest color to match the overall theme of the phone.

That is interesting. Rubber material is definitely more susceptible to having dust or dirt stick to it than the soft touch material. Aside from that the active case is ok and comes down to preference as to which a user chooses. I have decided to keep my active case, but don't use it as much as the innocase.

well here are some pics i am not sure if this is what you wanted pics of. But anyway sorry for the awkward angles and quality. And actually the last pic is very accurate in size so if you put your phone up to the picture you will get a good estimate on how much thickness the case adds.

I do not find the case "bumpy" but i do not think it is "smooth" if you know what i mean. It is SLIGHTLY grainy.

THANK you for posting those pics! i see that it does not make the phone that much thicker, and it's still on the thin side.

i wanted sage, but man, that white looks slick.

i wonder if it'll look back in a few months, though... sometimes white plastics fade and such.

i think a rugged would be too much for everyday use, but the innocase ii not enough, so this might be a good compromise.

i say everyday use because i have 2 kids, and my env2 has been dropped MANY times because of them, and once in the toilet, too.
maybe twice, i forget now.

so, yeah, i would rather not use a case at all, but w/ kids, well, if you got little ones, you know how it goes. ;)

does anyone know if the Rugged comes or will come in anything else besides Black?

The Rugged Skin and Skeleton are only available in Black. However, we have the Rugged Add-on Kit available now, so you could buy the Innocase II Surface in the color of your choice and purchase the Rugged Add-on Kit. This way you can get all the pieces of the Innocase Rugged Holster Combo while selecting the color of the Innocase II Surface you want.

Would you guys say the Active case is more protective than the high gloss silicone case?

I ask because they both seem to be about the same thickness, though I would assume the Active case is thicker and therefore more protective.

i think the active is more protective because of the hard plastic covering that supports the silicone with even more protection.

If anyone has any pics they could post of the sage colored active case that would be great.

I noticed in gobluejd's video review he did that he mentions the blue case didn't look like it was supposed to. It was way too dark. I don't want to order a sage colored one and have it look like vomit or something when I open it. lol.

I'm tired of waiting on Otterbox and the Seidio active looks really tempting.

I ordered both white and amethyst Innocase Active cases through Seidio's Amazon store. Ordered on 7-18. Finally heard today that the white case will arrive between Aug 24-29th. Over a month after being ordered. Still have no clue when the purple case is coming. Reading here that many are already receiving their colored ones, it is really discouraging. I guess that's what I get for saving 21.00 versus ordering from Seidio's site.
(49.90 for two cases, no tax, no shipping fees)

yikes! well, if i want white, i can wait a little bit to decide. That sage looks great, i think it's modeled after android green. might do that.

do i see that it's $30 for the case and now $30 for the holster?

how secure is the holster to the case? I need something to go jogging in and i need to clip my phone to my shorts or fuel belt. i'm nervous about the phone coming away from the holster. might just get a sleeve type thing w/ a holster. or an official running case.
