Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

I haven't tried Bettercut but I did try Anycut and I am not pleased. When I create a shortcut it doesn't align with other app shortcuts on the screen. Am I doing something wrong?

I haven't looked up AnyCut yet, but on the replies on one of the pages for Bettercut, someone says this is not needed because 2.X Android allows you to make shortcuts for anything. Comments?

Also says it is not compatible with Froyo.

A big thing for me is the ability to change icons. I have a page of my homescreen dedicated to internet bookmarks. It is nice to see the ESPN logo or the TiVo logo rather than the stock bookmark icon.

That is the only thing I am using it for...to change shortcut icons.

Is there another app that does that, without everything else in Bettercut?

Timeriffic ~ one of my fav's!

Current setup are as follows;

Mon - Fri:

*** 7:00am WiFi OFF.
*** 7:05am Aeroplane mode ON.
*** 7:07am Aeroplane mode OFF.
*** 6:00pm WiFi ON

rinse & repeat Monday to Friday.

One thing it lacks is options imo such as Speaker phone, ringtone, auto-sync etc, Setting Profile does the the last few but isn't very reliable imo.

I can't figure the nesoid app out...

i got a couple rom packs from the market. when you have them downloaded to your SD card, make a folder shortcut somewhere on your home screens to the folder where you put them. jist tap on the zip of the game rom, and choose to open it with snesoid. it was a PIA the 1st time to get it to figure it out. but it's really fun to play the old stuff.

i have heard that there is. don't know the name, icon switcher or something. the natural evolution for most people seems to be to eventually try a new launcher. adw, and launcher pro give options for that, so i never use bettercut anymore. but don't want to delete it, weird...:)

I would have to say that Power Manager is the app that I couldn't do without. If it wasn't for that, my phone would be dead by the middle of the day. My day starts at 5 in the morning and my phone usually doesn't go back on the charger until 10 at night. Great app.

I'd like to try Power Manager, as lots of people say good things about it.

I just searched "power Manager" on the Market, but there are TWO versions.

One is a single word "PowerManager" by Kappen.

The other is two words "Power Manager" by x-phone software.

This 2nd one has a Lite and a Full version.

Which of these is the one that everyone praises so highly?

Thanks!

There are a few, the most popular is Locale. Is this what you're looking for? It switches based on time and location using GPS. Locale for Android

I've been looking for one similar to locale because I can't see myself paying $10 for this app. I heard of one that was named something like "spot on" or something like that but haven't been able to find it or another app similar to it. Any help would be appreciated.

Setting Profiles ($3.95 USD) is the one for me. LOVE it. Does it snag your location perfectly? Not always, and it can be slow to let you out of that location, but it generally works very well. Lots of config options. I've got rules based on time of day, day of week, location, etc. Very powerful. Profiles can be configured to do most anything you want with the phone and rules/profiles can be stacked on top of each other. Every night, I've got my charging, home and nighttime profiles running and the combination gives me the perfect mix of settings.

I even have this thing set to SMS my wife an "almost home" message when I get to a point that's about 15 minutes from my house while on my way home from work. :)

Pretty active user community with responsive developers. Me likey.

Any idea if you can forward your phone based on a profile? I could do that with Phone Alarm on my WinMo device. Really nice.

You mention an active user community. Is their forum? I didn't see anyu links to a community on their site.
