Who got the update??

Question above. I downloaded & installed 2.1 OTA from stock 1.5 in April. I then downloaded & installed 2.1 MR4 this morning. I still have the 50% without signal bug, and this thread recommends doing a factory reset. Will this put me back at 1.5 or 2.1 pre-MR4? If so, what are my next steps to get back to the current OS/ROM? Thanks.

Factory reset just wipes your Data and Cache, it doesn't "reload" any OS. It just "reset" everything to factory defaults, it gets rid of your home page settings, and user settings.

and it doesnt get rid of the 50% w/o signal bug. if it bothers you that much, put it in airplane mode, let the phone fall asleep for a few minutes, get it out of airplane mode and let the % drop to 0.

I also got the v2.1 email yesterday. That is not related to this update. We got it because we were on v2.1l3 and did not receive the official 2.1OTA. They still think we are on v1.5. This new update should bring us up to par as far as their database is concerned.

I was part of the few to receive this current update a couple of weeks ago. Other than version number differences, I have seen no difference in phone performance. I had not experience the silent phone bug so don't know if this update addressed that.

I received this email and was on 2.1ota

I got it last night and I'm pretty sure the *#*#checkin#*#* worked this time. A little after midnight I checked my phone to see if it had the update - Settings -> About Phone -> Check System Updates. Nothing. Then I did the checkin, got "checkin success" and checked the same area and the update was downloading.

Don't expect to much out of this update. It really is just the update to the official 2.1 for those who were on the leak.

I do not expect that it will resolve any issues that already exist with 2.1.

The next meaningful update will be the one that an in-store Verizon rep told me will be coming in the fall! Ya, I know, what does that really mean!!!

This is not true. This update is supposed to fix the silent call bug issue. A few weeks ago they released this update and very few got it. The Eris, MOTO Droid, and Incredible all need an update to fix the silent call bug. VZW then pulled the update because, apparently, there was an issue with it. They just started rolling it back out.

This information came straight from VZW.

I received the update at 12:30 am this morning.

btw, what do the different version of the ERI mean? I know ERI stands for "Enhanced Roaming Indicator" and pretty much shows the text on your lock screen where it says Verizon Wireless, or Extended Network, or other...

I have ERI Version 5... someone else has ERI Version 3... what's the difference? Is it your contract plan?

Got update this morning. Took about 5 mins to install with multiple auto reboots. Seems to be more snappy---exchange email and apps load quicker and transition to home screen is more responsive. Haven't used the voice phone to notice any difference there. But that was supposed to be most important fix. (besides silent bug, which I had on a previous Eris but returned for a refurbished that worked fine.)
