Traveling - Applications to use/avoid?

This is something that I have been trying to get my head around for a bit, and I did find one post over in the Inc forum that had a mix of applications that were good for traveling, but I wanted to see if anyone in here might be able to help with some ideas...

Here is what I was thinking would work:

Pictures:
Footprints - If anyone has a link for where I can download this, my rooted ROM dosn't have it included.

Finding stuff:
Trip Advisor - Just released, but looks a lot like some of the others listed here.
Nearby Places
Goby

Layar - Augmented Reality is kinda cool, but in some ways just a gimmick to find the same stuff as shown above.

My Tracks - Although it can eat up batteries, it can be good to know how far you have traveled or even where you have been if you wanted to backtrack for some reason.

c:geo - Geocaching app, since I am hooked, this is one of the best I have seen.

Although I am not a big fan of updating everything I do, or places I go, when traveling, I was thinking of adding an app that could update my Facebook when I wanted to.

I also use Google Maps, and Google Navigation for getting around for pin pointing locations.

I have Mobile Defense installed JUST IN CASE I loose my phone or it is stolen.

I used Where for awhile, and then Google Places, but think I'm getting equivalent functionality from Google Maps - I can search for "Gas," or "Starbucks," in maps and don't need a separate app. I have NOT used it extensively, so YMMV.

My friend likes Google Latitudes for showing people where he is and updating locations, but I find it a little creepy.

Have fun in your travels, and come back and tell us what worked!
