I learned with my WM6 Mogul to always carry a spare battery in my wallet.

Even with an extended battery it would mysteriously quickly and unexpectedly drain it.

With an extended battery the Mogul is much, much thicker than the EVO will be.

While the Seidio extended battery may not give its full rated mAh it will still last a lot longer than anything else. Buying batteries from China is like Russian roulette.

I wouldve ordered this battery if I didnt do some research and find out that turning off facebook sync and news sync etc had given my phone way longer battery life. Im at 68% battery after a full day and half of being off the charger. I think Im good now.

how you turn off news sync? I do have news on my screen. I love it, but will remove it if its draining like that
I have facebook sync off (for contacts) and updates at 2 hours

Got my 3500mAh over the weekend, which I pre-ordered last month direct from Seidio. So far, it seems to hold a massive charge, about double the stock HTC battery and the 1750mAh Seidio which I also have (which does not have a noticeably longer runtime than the 1500mAh HTC, IMO).

The back door seems fairly high-quality, and has the smooth but textured finish similar (but not identical) to the stock Evo back. It clicks into place more solidly than the stock one, and thus requires more force to remove as well. It does add a lot to the thickness of the unit, which may or may not be acceptable to you based on your own personal preference.

Personally, I'm very happy to have double the battery life and am willing to have the additional weight and thickness. I used to own massive Palms and Handspring Visors, after all ;)

When you say "double the battery life" this is based on no more than Seidio's claims that this battery performs as they say. To date they've never published ANY test results about improved battery life. The only one who has ever challenged them is BatteryBoss and Seidio tried to rip him a new one saying that his results were faulty. There's also been posts where others seem to imply that Seidio is selling batteries of lower mAh with the labels added on.

I think i'll wait unitil someone does some real-world testing on these things. Spending that kind of money on a battery and increasing the bulk are two very important factors.

I'm just curious how come Seidio doesn't come out and defend their battery claims that this is doing what it says it is? They just say that any one who criticizes their battery claims are wrong. No proof otherwisse, like Batterybos actually offered, just "our batteries are high quality" or some such rhetorical PR doublespeak.

My opinion, someone needs to do a real test on these batterires. You can't always trust the manufacturer's claims.

Thanks for the update. I went with the cheaper alternative thru MobileCityOnline so I am still waiting for mine.

I assume this will not get Seidio's claimed mAh, but comparing other Seidio 3000+ mAh batteries tested and compared on BatteryBoss, Seidios still did well and almost double most of the other OEM sized ones.

I am wondering if my Amzer silicone case will stretch to fit this battery.

No. I am basing this on two days of having and using the battery in my device. I am completely open to the possibility that Seidio and other third-party manufacturers inflate their claims to the point of being downright skeptical (for example, I have the Seidio 1750mAh and it barely has the capacity of the stock one).

My opinion, someone needs to do a real test on these batterires. You can't always trust the manufacturer's claims.

Maybe you should buy one and do this "real test" yourself?

My Evo is used constantly countless times throughout the day every day, so can't really afford to dedicate several battery cycles to rigorous, documented testing with controlled usage (the only way to truly "test" a battery, outside of using specialized testing equipment). But, I can say that it is "about double the stock battery." Take that for whatever it's worth to you.

EDIT:
Here's a pic from JuicePlotter from yesterday. I used the phone "moderately" all day, making phone calls, texting, browsing, streaming music. 4G was off, Wifi off, GPS on, accounts are all on push, and SetCPU set to 128-254MHz when screen is off. Also the kernel has undervolting enabled. This is not scientific in any way, it is just FYI.

mobilcityonline says they are shipping mine now, $53.99 pre-order price with free shipping. I'm psyched to get this. I'm not at all worried about the extra 1/4" thickness, not at all. I use a holster anyway, so I don't need some crappy screen protector either.
Battery life now is good, usually left with between 37 and 50% after 18 hours of moderate use. My biggest help is manually float charging the battery when I wake up. That way, I leave the house with 100% charge instead of 90%.

if you are getting 18hours, why in the world are you ordering an extended battery? People who are buying this would kill to get 18 on their standard battery

just got my 3500mah extended battery few days ago...the only issue im having with this battery is not the battery itself, but the seidio back plate speaker hole. There isnt enough holes cut out where the speaker is and when i have my volume turned all the way up, the sound gets distorted trying to "squeeze" through 9 little pre drilled holes. I might have to dremmel the holes a little bigger and see if it helps.
