It's versus Its

Hi there, anyone know what's going on with my phone? Whenever I type "i-t-s" on my HTC Desire, it never gives me the option for "it's" only ever "its" or "It's" (with caps). It's very annoying!

Also, is there a way of disabling the "settings" button on the QWERTY keyboard? I keep pressing it when I'm aiming for a comma -- seems like a very bad design decision, especially considering the screen goes black for a few seconds before you can quit out of the "settings" screen.

Otherwise loving my Android phone! Thanks for any help! :)

Thanks, Terry, it's nice to know that it might be fixed!

So just to make sure we're talking about the same thing: You're typing a text message and you type I T S using the QWERTY keyboard on a HTC Desire... while you're in the middle of a sentence (i.e. not at the beginning of a new one).

I get the following options:

its It's it'd order

For some reason "it's" is always capitalized.

Is this NOT what you see?

Thanks again.

i have just tried again because the first time i tried using it's at the beginning of the message.

i just typed the following message.
hello it's terry lol from Illinois

words lol and Illinois worked first time.

i get the same options as yourself for "its" but is easy to enter it's without the capital just type it long press c for ' and then press s, and it writes it's without changing it.

Thanks Terry. VERY annoying to hear this isn't fixed in 2.2. Typing "i-t-HOLD c-s" is extremely irritating and unnecessary. Can't believe there isn't a better solution for this absurd problem. (How often do we use "its" in the English language anyway?!)

Makes me very sad :(
