When I plugged my phone into my computer (Mac) to move music on to it it came up with the option to charge only, HTC sync, Disk drive, and share Internet. I know that with Sprint you can pay for the Mobile hotspot app, which in my opinion is way to expensive, so I was wondering if the USB sharing is free or if it is bundled with the mobile hotspot add on. If anyone can tell me it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Unrooted? Hit or miss for wired tethering. Some people have reported it works fine, others indicate they get Error 67's. It looks like it's supposed to be bundled into the pay tethering plan, but again, some people have had luck.

Barring native tethering, you could probably get PDANet (they have a Mac client) or EasyTether (no idea on a Mac client). PDANet is free for non-https sites, and something like $30 if you want to use https or IPSec.

You can root the phone and use it natively as a modem, and that'll also give you Wifi tether. Without paying Sprint or rooting, I don't know of any way to do WiFi tethering.
