That isn't fully true. I got mines 1 day before the official release date and also got an SD card. From what I remember, they started throwing SD cards about a week before the release date (so that only people who got it SUPER early didn't get it, but were able to walk into a store, show their receipt, and get one for free). The only difference would be that mines was not placed inside the actual phone box, but instead was placed inside the FedEx shipping box (basically separate packaging from the phone itself). Now, with the black, Droid box, they put it inside.
i'm in the same boat. White, no "droid" verbiage, no sd card. I also have had none of the "problems" with the phone that other users have. Maybe the first batch was the best...
