Root Official Unrevoked Developers have Froyo on EVO

Here are some of the exciting Froyo feature that I used:

- moved app to sd card
- camera rotates in all 4 directions
- LED light when video recording

um, thats it. no new widgets for me, running non-sense launcher (hey nonsense, get it?).

Wait, I need to try Flash!
You can also rotate the browser in all directions. Not just to the one side.

You aren't a company that put out a product and said an update was coming today, either.

Bottom line is that update should never have seen the light of a publicly accessible folder on HTCs website and whoever published it should be fired, immediately.

The person who leaked it being fired, yes possibly, but HTC at no point said this update was for the public to download. Maybe you were too anxious and thought just because it was "accessible" meant it was "yours". There's a huge difference in what you WANT and what is GIVEN to you. Downloading without consent is what you did.

Qik fails too. Its something with how the OS accesses the camera because any app that uses the camera works fine until the point of actually loading the camera.

Fail HTC, fail.

Now I think you're just trolling. You seem to be hitting on EVERY thing you can find. I just loaded up Qik, rear camera works, Front camera works. Video recording works. No hiccups or anything.

So many people bickering instead of tryin to be helpful adding to the pages of non-sense! lol Anyways, got Froyo fine but, seems the FPS cap wasnt unlocked? Everything DOES seem smoother (scrolling mainly) and faster but, FPS2D Still showing an average of 28-29fps. Comments?

Yea I emailed HTC earlier about it asking if Froyo removes the limit. Got one of those template emails about it being a hardware lock blah blah.

Peace,

did the update and i now have Froyo--not a party pooper but other than speeding up the phone, a few camera tweeks and extra apps im not to impressed :(
from what I've seen there were no real changes made to SENSE---the twitter app (which i love) still does not have a Trending Topic option, the weather (after sliding unlock) doesnt load immediately like the HTC HD2 (maybe like a 2-3 delay) and no real modifications to the HTC Calendar...
Dont get me wrong---im glad I downloaded---just not all that impressed

When they made it publicly accessible, they implied consent. That is the entire purpose of security permissions.

Are you seriously this daft?

I'm curious to know about this, is it really snappier or just "different"?

Good question. It seems faster. I tried a few apps that seemed slow previously (e.g. Camera, Settings-Applications, barcode scanner) and they seem quicker. But it's hard to tell unless I have an Evo 2.1 to compare. I should have video taped some things beforehand. I don't notice any lag in scrolling (but I only noticed minimal before).

Using linpack, my mflops when from about 6 (IIRC) to 38 now.
