Just downloaded it and will try installing tonight.

Build no 2.73.771.73 is available for download.

I assume this is 2.1 as I have build 2.72.771.62 on mine from 3UK

Hello,

Due to the debacle that is 3 and the upgrade to 2.1 I am thinking of doing Moko76 upgrade.

However, before I do this, I wanted to know just one thing.
I use not Planet 3, but the check your usage a lot to keep track of my spend and quite obviously my current usage. Does anyone know if this link still works, even though the phone will be unbranded ?

Don't worry about this, there are better ways to watch usage on your phone. Look in the market for 3G Watchdog for example - I use this on my Orange UK Moto Milestone.

the link doesn't work anymore, but if you go to the market after youv'e upgraded and do a search for "3" you will find an app for the 3 page

Don't worry about this, i've used Moko's method and have Planet 3 as my homepage to check usage, it can be done, honest

Thanks, that's now convinced me to go upgrade my phone to 2.1 LOL.

i called 3 today and said whats going on with the 2.1 update surprise surprise they didnt have a clue what i was on about and after putting me on hold for about half hour they came back and said we dont have no info on the release yet, but we are hoping to release it in about a months time is when we are going to try and get it out

3 couldnt run a p*** up in a brewery

Agree, I would not trust what 3 say, in fact would not trust (in that sense) as far as I could throw them.

True they offer some superb deals, and there phones range is pretty good and the network (in my opinion) is outstanding. On all other fronts (including customer service) seem to be more archaic than anything.

Good luck but you'll be fine.
Back up your texts (if you so wish) using SMS Backup and Restore
Everything else you can use Astro to backup
Both are available from The Market
You'll no doubt have a Market/google log in but i found it best to make a note of what apps i had installed then, post upgrade go back and re-install one by one from The Market which, does take time but is worth it long term.
It really is easy to do, Moko has done a really good guide and just take your time you'll be on 2.1 very soon

yeah i already swapped my satio for the hero because of lack of support for that phone ( which is the worst phone on the planet ).. and now you dont have a clue about this , so i think because you always mess me around you should upgrade my price plan for free

This is getting kinda silly! Talked to a three customer service rep. not going well at all. what a mess! he knows nothing about an update, then reffered me to htc site, then to the three store, then telling me there is no 2.1 update, then he's put me on hold again when i asked him to talk to someone else............

He came back to tell me about the fotware version 2.73............ I told him thats not the firmware. Anyways couldn't get nothing, he just said when there is an update you will be notified.

Loads of crap!

read my post above it will tell you everything form the android side on whats going on with the update , it should be sent back to 3 by the end of the month give or take a few days

android team actually told me that ..

this is the number for the android uk team to call instead of calling the jokers at 3 who have no clue about anything

3 are now saying that they expect the 2.1 update back from HTC by this time next week, if not sooner.

So its gone from being ready by the end of July, to being submitted to Google for approval and now it's with HTC. :thinking:

From the posts that moderator is making on the blog, is it any wonder that people have little or no faith in 3

Hey all..

I spoke to Executive Office today reference some problems i am having in signal etc and data connection in my area but i asked the question about 2.1 and the lady kindly went away and called me back with the answer that, It should have been released last week but it should be avaliable for download by end of this week as they had some download issuse on there server aparently.

So all being well 3 people we will have 2.1 this week..

This is from 3 head office and not 3 Customer service..
